This machine works great, the kids and their friends loved it. Over a year later and it still works

It works way better than I expected. Not perfect, but surprisingly less frustration inducing than I expected.Oh, but the music gets… annoying. Wow.

The last one we owned (purchased 15 years ago) LOOKS exactly the same as this one, down to the very last detail. Bur one HUGE difference is the quality of the product and how much its changed over the years. Mainly the claw itself is now made of cheap plastic and not metal. It's extremely WEAK and won't even pick up lightweight candy like a Tootsie Roll or small bit of taffy etc... We tried and tried for over an hour attempting to get any one piece out without success! The old machine was a three or four attempt (at most) before you would successfully get a "reward". The machine is very loud as well, but honestly that doesn't bother me (at least I always knew when they were playing with it before and could monitor the candy intake - now it doesn't matter because they will never get the candy out anyway!). A waste of money and really frustrating for both kids and their adults alike. Would NOT recommend.

Bought this for a birthday party for adults as a fun little thing to play with after dinner, but Oh my god! My entire family was obsessed with it! We literally played for hours on end just trying to get the little prizes (which I also purchased seperately from amazon). It wasn't that the prizes were that great, but the competition to get the most prizes was so fun. This runs on 3 D size batteries, not 2 AA like the details say. So you should definitely know that. The 3D size batteries were more than enough to power the game for hours and then some. The claw works pretty well, you just have to be very precise to get a prize. Be sure you get prizes that aren't too heavy. Little plastic cars and fidget spinners were what I put in it.The only slight con is that you will be hearing that circus music in your dreams! It's only the one tune and man is it loud. The tune gets faster and faster as the turn is about to end. I promise you though...you'll be "hearing" it in your head for a long time after!Great game we'll be using it for more parties in the future.

There are a couple design flaws with this machine, but there are ways around it to make it work. The first issue I had was the plastic put on the claw for shipping. This wouldn’t be so bad, however, the access hole to this is too small to get your fingers in. This small hole is also how you are supposed to load the items you want in there. I ended up taking the screws off the entire top so that you can remove it and I just set it back on top while using. The access to the change slot does not seem to want to stay in either. I did not read the description carefully enough, and it uses D batteries, which is a pain and spendy, but I am sure that was in the information. I just didn’t read it. I have seen that the major complaint is that the music is obnoxiously loud, and I fully agree. So much so that I went on a YouTube to find a video showing how to disable it. It was pretty easy, you just have to remove the bottom and cut the wiresIt was pretty easy, you just have to remove the bottom and cut the wire leading to the speaker. And although this is easy, it would be a lot easier if they just had a control to turn it down or off like many other toys in the world has. The light still flash, and it gives you a cue on when you’re starting to run out of time, because the light start flashing faster. Even without the music, the claw itself is super loud. With all those concerns noted, it was worth the price. My kids have fun with it. And will be great to use at birthday parties.

This was one of my favorite purchases, for my kids arcade room. It was soo fun to use while it was working! There were minor glitches, and unpredictability with the claw at times, but for 50$ I thought it was well worth it. Until, less than a week after Christmas, the claw randomly decided to stop going down. It will go from side to side, back and forth, but it will no longer go down to pick anything up. I have tried troubleshooting, and figuring out the problem, but I cannot seem to find one, it just does not work.Another thing I should mention is it requires 4 either C or D batteries, which are kinda expensive... especially when the product decides to not work anymore!I am unsure if mine was faulty, or what, but I would gladly re-write this review, if I am able to get this fixed!
