These certainly do appear to be made from chrome vanadium steel, but there is so little steel involved that I do have concerns about how long these will last. My photos show the 1/2" and 3/8" U-joints from this set next to the more "industrial" (Made in USA) versions that I already owned. In each photo, this product is the one that looks much smaller. I didn't bother photographing the 1/4" U-joint because I don't have one to compare it to.On the one hand, this compact size will make it easier to reach into tighter spaces, but on the other hand, it makes me concerned about how long they will endure. It is perhaps worth mentioning that the 1/2" version does not bend quite as far over as my industrial U-joint... you can see that in the first photo. The 3/8" version seems to reach a comparable angle to my industrial one.I like that these U-joints have a ball detent similar to what you see on most ratchets, as opposed to the spring pins on my industrial U-joints. It's much easier to get sockets on and off of this product. Be sure to wear safety glasses just in case anything ever comes flying off of these at a high speed! The joints seem as tight as my industrial ones, so they should be able to transmit the impact through to the fastener just as well.If you already have some heavy-duty joints, like I did, you might want to get these just to help you reach into tighter spaces. If you don't have any impact-rated U-joints, then these are probably a great place to start. It's worth mentioning that I could buy 3 of these complete sets of U-joints for the price I paid for just my one 1/2" industrial, Made-in-USA-and-priced-accordingly joint. If you don't need to use them very often, then I would highly recommend you get these and save yourself a lot of money. You could replace them several times and still pay less than what I paid for my industrial ones. But if you're working in a garage and using them every day, you might want to consider getting something a little more robust. If these ever fail on me, I'll come back and update my review with photos and let you know how much use I got out of them before they died.

I received my U-Joint impact set and was excited to get to use them. While these impact sockets look good, immediately on opening I noted that the 1/2 inch has a joint that is very sticky and popping whenever the joint is moved from one side to the other. The 1/4 and 3/8 swivels do not suffer from the same problem. They move smoothly and freely. When attaching another socket that process goes smoothly, and I will note there is a ball to "lock" the socket in place if properly aligned with the hole on the socket. This feature works as designed. These joints do work as designed (with the exception noted above on the quality of the 1/2 swivel) and are a good "universal" swivel setup.I am struggling with how to rate this product because it would really be a nice tool if there were not quality issues right out of the box. With some quality issues noted immediately, after a few months of impacting, I expect further issues may crop up considering the environment these sockets work in are by definition harsh, so problems will only magnify with constant hammering. I will be fair and note these aren't the most expensive universal sockets out there, but I still want a quality product, and I still want it to last. For this reason I am giving 3 stars. If it were solely based on looks, the product looks great. I love the markings on the product which are large and easy to read. These are constructed with Chrome Moly so in theory they should hold up okay over time, but I like my tools to have a very smooth operation and the 1/2 just doesn't have that.Likely this was a manufacturing defect and hopefully others will not suffer from the same issue. If I didn't have that issue this would be a 5 star review, but I just can't do that the way the product was received.

I purchased these three swivel sockets to gain access to a bolt located in the engine compartment of my 08 chevy hd. This tool proved indispensable for reaching the bolt at an otherwise impossible angle. These sockets boast impact quality, designed to be compatible with an impact wrench due to their stronger metal composition compared to typical sockets. Additionally, the swivel feature functions as an extender, providing increased length along with the socket. After researching various swivel sockets, I opted for these over others because of their narrow design, ensuring a better fit in tighter spaces (as evident in the picture where a wider socket would not have been as effective; I required the smallest possible size). The only potential improvement could involve reducing the ease of swiveling, as the socket tends to move loosely until it is placed on the bolt. A more rigid movement would enhance ease of use, particularly for one-handed applications.
