The mic is easy to setup and sounds pretty good for the price. I would score it higher but the mic stand has a terrible design flaw. It comes in three pieces and the top piece doesn't connect properly to the bottom two. It just balances on a metal peg. This makes it very wobbly, and if you try to pick it up the whole base falls out from the top part. They acknowledged the problem and sent a replacement, but when the replacement had the same problem they said that's the "intended behavior." I was excited to use this misc but definitely wouldn't buy it again.

I had a good time using this mic, for starters the mic out of the box sounds really good, there isn't any built in noise cancellation, but if you use the wave link software you can add effects (which includes really good noise cancellation)The mic comes with access to the afforementioned wave link software, which is the best audio mixing software I've ever used. I used it to setup a soundboard which didn't take me long.I use this mic for making videos and calling, every time I use it, people can hear me clearly, this is the only mic I've used that actually captures true-to-life voices.

I run a YouTube channel and upgraded to this microphone from the TONOR TC30 (and Blue Snowball before that). I had been looking at Elgato products for a while and decided to take a chance on the Neo line of products. My audience immediately noticed the difference and complimented the audio on the first video with the Elgato Neo Mic. The Wave Link Software also made applying settings a breeze.Regardless of whether I run the MIC through OBS or StreamYard, the audio clarity has always been spot in.I have the mic mounted to the Tonor boom arm and love the small form factor of the mic because it stays out of sight of view of my camera but still allows me to put it close to my face and also love the touch panel for the mute. I've been using it for a few months now and have never had an issue. Thoroughly impressed and I'm looking into expanding into the our items in the NEO line.

I've had a number of Blue Yeti mics and, for years, have generally preferred Amazon Basics Professional Condenser Microphones over the Blue Yeti. The audio quality from the Elgato Wave Neo mic is on par with the Blue Yeti and Amazon Professional Condenser mic. It has a cardioid pattern that, as far as I can tell, is not adjustable to other patterns. So, it does lack some features that those other mics have, but I don't do face-to-face interviews or anything, so my mics are ALWAYS set to cardioid anyway. The mic has audio out, but my understanding is that this is just a nearby 3.5mm jack for headphones and it is NOT an audio monitor jack for hearing yourself.I've generally preferred the Amazon mic over the Blue Yeti because of the OLED display. That sounds silly, but it's a great way to see when my mic is muted. I have, for years, used my Stream Deck to toggle my mic mute back and forth and I liked how the OLED was always in sync with that status. I know the Blue Yeti had a mute capability but clicking things on microphones to mute/unmute almost always introduces noise that the other end can hear, so I've always gone with the software solution instead.Fast forward to this Elgato Wave Neo, and my process is changing a bit. I've stopped using my Stream Deck to toggle mute because the Elgato has a capacitive touch button to mute/unmute which turns a light white/red based on status. It's a VERY touch-sensitive button, which I like because I can barely touch it (or not even touch it) to mute/unmute so there's no bumping of the mic. This frees up a Stream Deck button and is nicer/more obvious mute display. Plus, the mic is easily the best looking mic I've ever seen. It no longer looks like hardware pulled from the local radio station but looks sleek and stylish. Plus, USB C. No more Micro USB falling out of the Amazon mic when I bump my desk wrong. It's a weird boot (for aesthetics) on the USB cable that plugs into the mic, but I think a normal cable would work just fine, as well.Overall, yes, I'd highly recommend this mic. In fact, I prefer this over all other mics I've had so far. And it is EASILY the best-looking mic available!

The Elgato Wave Neo USB Condenser Microphone initially impressed me with its excellent build quality. It's solidly constructed and looks premium, which gives the impression that you're getting a top-notch product.Unfortunately, my experience quickly soured when I realized how dependent this microphone is on Elgato's proprietary software. Many features, including zero-latency monitoring, are completely unavailable without the software. This is a major drawback, especially for users like me whose corporately managed devices restrict the installation of kernel extensions. A requirement for the software to function.Without the software, the microphone feels stripped down to a basic, overpriced device. It still functions as a microphone but so do cheaper products. If you can’t install the necessary software, you’re left with a product that is mostly stripped of a lot of features for its intended purpose (e.g. zero-latency monitoring)While the hardware itself is fantastic, the reliance on software that users might not be able to run makes this a poor choice for professionals with strict IT policies. Without access to the software, this microphone becomes little more than a basic, overpriced option.I wish this reliance on software and these limitations were mentioned on the product page, as this reliance on software could be a dealbreaker for many users.Unfortunately, these issues make it difficult for me to recommend the Wave Neo to anyone looking to upgrade their audio setup for remote work or other professional use.

I use this for good sounding video and audio conference calls on the computer. It is far superior to the $20-$30 tier of desktop microphones I've tried, but doesn't break the bank - especially when it goes on sale. The weighted desktop stand is fantastic, but the Neo also easily mounts on a standard boom without any problems (mine is a $20 Neewer arm I bought here at Amazon B00DY1F2CS). I'm very happy I bought this. I wish I had skipped the cheaper microphones and gone straight to this one first.

Attractive little mic that gets out of the way and doesn't cause issues. I do wish the mute function was mechanical and not capacitive because I do accidentally touch it sometimes.

I'm not a professional. I want to sound good while gaming with my friends online. Before I purchased this mic I was using an XLR mic and interface, and I could never get it to sound good. In contrast, setting up the Elgato was very easy and it sounded great out of the box. I think this microphone costs a third of what I paid for that other stuff, but it outperforms it handily and gets rid of some desk clutter too.I was able to attach this microphone to my existing mic arm I got a long time ago, but it also comes with a nice weighted desktop stand. The Wave Link software you are entitled to with this microphone is great, allowing you to install plug-ins. I have it going to Nvidia Broadcast first, then back into Wave Link to run through its own noise suppression and a condenser (both VERY easy to set up for those who know nothing). This has brought the clacking sound of my mechanical keyboard to nearly imperceptible levels while I'm talking and silent while I'm not talking. My only lament is that I wish it came in black so it would match my desk, mic arm, and peripherals, but it's otherwise so good that I can happily live with a slightly tacky look.
