i bought this to help my Razor MX650 pull me along! i’m a 200lbs man and the stock motor just had enough power to get me going! it would not be able to pull me on the slightest incline! this 48volt/2000w motor is a huge upgrade! i can ride the razor up inclines and able to get to 20mph! very happy with this!

Got the quad up to 15 mph, stock was 7mphTwice as fast for not much money tbhTwo issues I encountered.I had to mess with the phase wires and hall sensor wires (motor was spinning in reverse) which instructions said that could happen. However instructions did not say which wires to switch but with only a few wires I tested all variations and settled on the one that worked. The 3 speed switch had 1 slow 2 fast 3 fastThe plug for reveres was not used. So I had to take out the wire from the reverse plug and add it to the 3 speed switch plug to get the desired 1 slow 2 fast 3 reveresOther than that seems like decent kit and good value for the money

Pretty good little upgrade for a Razor MX500. Installation was not too bad. Had to recess the head of two of the motor bolts as they were hitting the mounting bracket on the bike. Then had to cut off the extra length of the bolt that was sticking out the other side of the motor. Also had to cut off the aluminum mounting bracket on the motor as it is not needed and was in the way. Everything wired up pretty easily. Only little issue was the plugs on the controller for the brakes did not match the plugs on the brakes themselves. No big deal, just cut the plugs off the old controller and crimp them onto the new one. I paired this kit with a 48v, 18ah LiFePo4 battery from eBay and the bike goes for miles. My kids ride for several days without recharging. I am 200 lbs and it will pull me up to 26 mph on flat road.

I had a problem with the unit and the seller has been very helpful and accommodating. It is working perfectly. My son and I have constructed an electric minibike as a father and son project over the holidays. It was so easy and enjoyable using this motor and controller. We are so pleased.

I was excited when I purchased this for an electric moped conversion I am doing. It arrived but I didn't examine the parts right away since I had work. When my weekend came and I examined everything, most of the parts were in poor condition. I am a lead engineering technician in the research and development department of a semiconductor company, and i'm really comfortable with electronics, quality and troubleshooting.First thing I noticed were several deep gouges, cosmetic scratches and melted plastic on the speed controller. Everything was wrapped up really well in foam so I know it wasn't from shipping. It looked like it was beat up and used but by looking at the connectors I know it wasn't used before. Whether this is made by this seller or bought from a vendor, it shows that they do not care about quality. I'm nitpicking the minor cosmetic issues because this also correlates to workmanship standards and gives me concern on whether or not this was built correctly. I do have to say that without taking it apart I can confirm that they have a higher gauge wire for the rating of the speed controller amp wise so from the outside that does bring some comfort. The second thing I noticed, is that the motor itself didn't have the air cooling plate appropriately drilled out. I noticed metal shavings on the outside and a couple on the inside of the holes. This screams a risk of arcing. 95% of the holes weren't drilled all the way through which is a rushed job. I also noticed that one of the screws on the motor is stripped out. This lets me know that they do not care about quality, and that there is no torque specification for these components or at least not done correctly. The third thing which really annoys me is the fact that this is borderline false advertisement. They advertise as it being a 2000 watt brushless motor but upon looking in the somewhat okay instruction manual states that you need a 40 amp speed controller to be able to get that or at least close to it. They claim they kit this motor with the 33 amp speed controller to help make the motor last longer and that it is really 1600 watts but those that have tested it have verified its much less than that.Overall, the poor quality, workmanship and misleading advertisement makes me believe this is not worth the price, the risk of injury and I hope that this review saves someone both time and money from buying this poorly made kit. I would give this a 0 out of 5 rating if I could.Edit: I've gone through with a multimeter and everything appears to be safe. No unexpected grounding and the continuity of everything seems about right. I will continue testing with the multimeter and will update the review as things progress.
