They do work for most earrings. They are so much smaller than the picture shows on line. A bit hard for "old fingers" to grasp and handle.

I have lost so many earrings before when backings come off, or I am changing shirts and it tugs my ear. I now love to use these backings to ensure my earrings don’t get tugged off by accident.

These are great earring backs. The silicone helps to keep the backs in place and don’t catch on your hair like metal backs. I’ve gotten similar white gold backs at my local jeweler years ago and they were $15 each, last year he charged me $30 each! This was a great find at a much better price. They don’t really wear out but can loosen up over time so this order provides a lot of replacements.

I change the backs on my earrings as I’ve found they are the only thing that need changing. This type of ear back looks good from “behind” but the center does get discolored after a few months. Easy to manage with these backs.

I have a nickle allergy and more often than not the usual earring backs hurt and the small plastic ones end up embedded in the piercings. These little guys are perfect though! No pain and a secure hold... if you check on them every now and then. After a few weeks I noticed they slide a bit down the jewelry back and that I'd have to push them back up. I even almost lost an earring when I didn't notice how one just disappeared completely. I still give a high rating due to the pain relief and not having to worrh about them getting embedded. I just reccomend checking every now and then that they are still there.
