Excellent pipe tap and die kit. Overall a very high quality kit, includes some nice drill bits too. The included tool bag is actually pretty nice, and has plenty of space to fit some other tools as well. The kit is exactly as described, and performs as expected.

I bought this because I needed to make a custom plumbing nipple for a job. It took a while, as the taper is very important to make the nipple work. You just have to keep working it slowly to get the desired taper and result. Very happy with it even if I never use it again.

Working around the farm I sometimes ding up pipes and fittings and it makes them hard to thread together. This kit is awesome for chasing threads and fixing those dings and problems so parts go together with ease. I love that I can fix a part and not have to go buy another one. I've been using this Drill America tap and die set, and I've got to say, it's pretty solid. I've tried out a few of their products before, and they've consistently held up well. The carrying bag they come in is nothing fancy, but it's sturdy enough to get the job done.I've already put these tools to work on a couple of projects. I cleaned up some threads on an iron pipe and used them for threading PVC, and both times the results were as expected. No leaks, clean threads – exactly what you want from a set like this.If you're doing any kind of work with pipe threads, I'd say this set is pretty much essential. It's reliable, gets the job done, and won't let you down when you need it most.

I did machining work for years, and i used a lot of Drill America bits. They are always high quality. I haven't used these yet, but they appear to be of the same manufacturing quality that i'm used to. If you do a lot of plumbing work, or pipe threading, these will be handy to own.

Properly hardened steel – needle files can't scratch them.For giggles, I threaded some 1/2” PVC pipe and it turned out well. Generally, though, these are mostly good for cleaning up threads. One really needs a proper pipe threader to effectively start and cut threads in metal pipe, especially the larger diameters.The included bag isn't anything special and not particularly useful to me. I would have rather seen these in a small case that could then be put into my main plumbing tool kit. No points deducted for that as the bag mostly feels like an afterthought to the actual product.

This is a pretty nice kit, plenty comprehensive with lots of sizes. It comes in a zip up bag that seems plenty sturdy and has a lot of leftover room so you can throw your drill or whatever else you need in with it. The threads on everything seem well cut and everything looks well made. A few pieces didn’t get oiled well obviously because there’s some small bits of rust here and there. Not a huge amount and nothing too deep or anything, just surface rust that can be knocked off with some steel wool. No big deal, just a little miss on their end. Overall, it’s still a pretty nice kit and I’m happy with it.
