I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado z71 off road . My son installed the hitch by the instructions. It definitely sits way too low! If I do a 3” lift on the front suspension it might be ok. But now I’ve defeated my off road capabilities with my Off Rosd truck. It sits a few inches off the ground. I don’t recommend it on Silverado z71 off roads.

Excellent product works well hard install. this is a Bolton model no drilling required new use the holes in the frame of the truck. One problem there’s no hole on the opposite side so you have to use wires to try to hold the bolt the wires that they give you work but it’s hard to catch The nut and bolt together. Took a lot longer than was expected but works very well. After a while I found I had to tighten up on the bolts one more time to the torque spec Hasn’t moved since.

Easy install. Only had to drill one hole, and that was in the plastic skid plate for the rear most bolt. It should do the job it was designed for just fine. My only complaints are it sits a little lower than it has to be and it would be less noticeable if it was 2-3” shorter.

Required cutting of a round hole through the plastic splash pan and a notch in the front plastic air dam but easily done with wood working tools (used a hole saw and an oscillating multi-tool). Other than that, bolted right in place in my 2016 GMC Sierra.

2014 GMC Sierra 1500 All TerrainTook me about an hour to install with a floor jack in home garage. It fits perfectly. Instructions for location of various washers is kind of unclear but once that's figured out it is straight forward. Trimming the splash shield is a hassle. I drilled a large hole in it instead. Trimming the air dam is suggested but I just bolted it up and crushed it a little (see pic). This hitch is fairly low once mounted and could be made to fit about 2 inches higher with no issue I can see other than cutting the air dam out further which I would gladly have done for the extra ground clearance so 1 star removed.

See the attached pics but remember my 2015 Yukon 4x4 has a 2" lift in the front. All told, the receiver sits about even with the lower outside edges of the chin spoiler.Z71 trucks and SUV's don't have a chin spoiler and the top of the receiver would be about 2" below the bumper.Install is easy. Pay attention to the washer locations and orientation. I used an oscillating saw to cut the chin spoiler and plastic splash shield. Loosely install the hitch over the splash shield to mark it and then remove to cut it and install the crossmember bolt. Install all three bolts before cutting the air dam/chin spoiler.Packaging was a big box with the receiver bouncing inside. Mine got a few paint chips but its under the truck...so who really cares?4 stars because the build quality and fit is good and price is right. It lost a star since it sits so low (I knew this in advance) and the packaging could use improving.

I’m not a big reviewer but feel this product has gotten a bad rap. I’m extremely happy with this purchase.Product arrived 90% wrapped and with extra packing paper albeit in an unnecessarily large box. Zero damage to paint as others mentioned. Maybe they’ve corrected their packing methods or maybe this was just a short shipping distance.Great appearance and quality. Should last for years to come. Parts were all in a bag taped directly to hitch. Instructions were clear and concise.Install went well and took 60-90 min by myself. Tape to hold washers up didn’t work for me either but was able to jam them into frame holes long enough to tighten nut onto them.Third, rear attachment point fell on dividing line between front and mid skid plates (see pic). Frame crossmember hole was slightly visible so I just drilled 1/2” hole through skid plate dividing line then took front skid down to fish bolt into position then reattached front skid.Hitch sits as high (1.5 finger width below license plate) and far back as possible. I sought that out to minimize loss of ground clearance and approach angle. On this new-to-me 2015 Silverado LT 4x4 the air dam was already bent back so I didn’t even cut it and everything looks streamline by my eyes.Highly recommend! Pair this with the “bumper dumper” for unlimited conversation starters, hahaha!

Very well built; good looking welds and good precision on assembly. Easy to install comes with good instructions and all hardware including the wire needed to fish the bolts through the frame. I had to cut out a small section of the lower air dam and a piece of the plastic oil pan shield to accommodate the hitch but it was a fairly small amount removed and is almost unnoticeable once install is complete. I recommend using a oscillating tool to cut the plastic; it leaves a clean cut and is easy to follow you marks.

Perfect fit 2015 Silverado 1500 4wd LS double cab. As per the instructions (for the guy who said there was no hole for the rear-most attachment point) drop the splash shield by all but the two most forward bolts which you need to loosen most of the way, and just "eyeball" about where you need to put a hole in the plastic shield for the bolt to pass through. Drill a small one (1/2 - 1"), press the shield back up and check your guess. Cut it bigger from there and check again. Then take out the two last bigger bolts still holding it up. Keeping the hole-filling washers in place with tape didn't work for me, so I hot glued them. Leave all those bolt-pulling wires on until you get the thing aligned. I cut the splash shield and plastic bumper shroud after it was up, but before final tightening. Pretty easy process just working in my driveway on a sheet of cardboard. Lifted it by hand and blocked with 4x4 pieces (2) and 2x4 (2) until it was high enough. About 1 1/2 hrs because of the learning curve.

If you buy this get you some black paint. Scratches everywhere. Poor packing. When you buy something you expect it to be all clean and shiny. This looked like it was used. Never buy from them again. Very dissatisfied customer.
