I played guitar for many years before my time in the service. Got this to try playing again. Shipping was awkward. Got 3 different delivery times. When it did arrive, the box had several holes in it, torn top flap, and in rough shape. Luckily the guitar wasn't hurt. Had a nick in the body, but covered it with a black sharpie. Very hard to keep it in tune, string buzz, bad fret work, and uneven heights. I took it to Guitar Center, and they wanted $225 plus change, just to get it setup, and playable. Do yourself a favor, and spend the extra few bucks, so you can actually play it. Accessories are there, but on the cheap side, and small size. The only thing that was really good was the capo. Very good, and fits tight on the neck. This is my outlook on this Donner outfit. Just saying use a real guitar store first before you buy just by looking at pictures. Donner did reach out to me, but none of their directions worked. Photos, video of product would not load, then they stated it was Amazon's fault the guitar was damaged, even though it was in a Donner box, and it was shipped, and delivered by UPS.UPDATE: Donner has notified me they did arrive full refund on the purchase price. Checked my account, and a full refund was given.Thank you to Donner for making things right. Maybe your Q.C. department will do a better job. Thanks again.

It’s a cheap guitar. The complaints people have about the frets being unfinished are true but I can’t see how you would cut your hand like people say unless your holding the guitar like a hammer your hands don’t touch that part. The pick up works sounds okay served it’s purpose as a cheap guitar to have lying around at my moms house when I visit. The amp is junk you can barely hear it with the volume all the way up tested on multiple instruments so it wasn’t the guitar. If you want a decent guitar look somewhere else especially because the amp is useless so it should be a lot cheaper.

This guitar is nice to look at, has good action and a reasonably good sound. It comes with an amplifier which I haven't used yet as well as a capo and a tuner and a set of extra strings. Delivery was quick. I like it and am very happy. My old guitar was warped and beyond repaiir $ wise. I consider myself an intermediate player strixctly accompanying my self singing at home. For a real beginner the instructions for tuning could be larger and clearer. Maybe infro about tuning manually in addition to using the Donner tuner could be added. The instructions for these things that are made in China do not always use proper English.

Bought this for my son who wanted to branch out from his electric guitar. It arrived in great condition, other than the bag had some white stuff on it that looked like mold. We wiped it down with cleaner and seemed to be resolved. Other than that it sounded great and the tuner that came with it was an added bonus.

The guitar looks great, sounds great and is easy to play. Perfect for someone learning to play guitar. The built in pickup is great if you did want to use it to record and it comes with everything you'd want (even a little practice amp). Donner also provides world class customer service if there are any issues with your shipment... Seriously they do. Great company.

I’ve been trying to learn for years. This has been a great beginners guitar and amp set. I broke a string the other day after having this almost a year and that was my fault. Having the extra strings available was a blessing.

Amazing deal for the price but it isn't without flaws. Fret ends were fairly sharp and the graun in the neck is so course and porous that it wouldn't be a ad idea to refinish the neck with some grain filler. I've never seen a guitar neck with such deep and large wood pores and I have around 30 guitars.Didn't expect the guitar to be amazing but it really is quite good for what it is and it sounds nice, even without effects. The room reverb is hardly noticeable and you have limited control of the delay time but the hall reverb and whatever delay you can get is pretty cool. The volume boost is noticeable. Maybe the effects are more pronounced when it's plugged into an amp but I haven't tried that yet.It came fairly well wet up and I would only need to sand down the bridge saddle a little bit to optimize the action, but it really wasn't bad at around 2.5mm at the 12th on the E strings. In my conclusion it's a cool little guitar thats worth the price. It's kind of a one trick pony when it comes to the effects but it's a cool trick.

I have played the guitar for decades, and owned a dozen or so guitars all over the price-range. I say this without hesitation - this is the most fun guitar I have ever had. The guitar features a simple innovation - effects inside the box via a small inbuilt amp and speaker, which results in an amazing, rich range of sounds in this 3/4 sized midget. And the fun part - you don't have to plug the guitar to an amp to enjoy the effects or be tethered to a speaker to enjoy the effects. Without these built-in effects, this is an ordinary low cost & quality guitar that does not merit a second look and with unremarkable raw sound. The stand-alone effects transform it to punch much higher than its price-range. On a welcome positive note, the action is low (much better than my Yamaha guitar - my fingers thank you). The raw sound without effects tends to be more on the metallic side - better gauge strings might improve the sound quality. There are a couple of annoying items that merit deducting a star: (1) the fret edges are angled sharply, and can cut your fingers if you are not careful as you slide along the fretboard. (2) I may have got a lemon - the lower E string does not stay in tune. I am hoping it will settle in, but this is not a good sign: I will return this if the tuning does not stay in place after a week of playing. The preamp is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery, which can reportedly last more than 6 hours of playing time. Several generous extras came in this package: a soft gig bag, spare strings, capo, plectrums, strap, tuner, and a cable to charge the internal battery via USB. A small folded paper explains how to operate the unit - long press power for a few seconds to turn it on. There are 3 knobs (and an additional nested knob) that control the effects. I picked this up on a whim during Amazon's Black Friday deals, and the advertised price is well worth it. If you love playing the acoustic guitar, you will enjoy this guitar - grab it before it sells out.
