Somehow my old digital calipers vanished, so I ordered these to replace them. One thing I didn't like about the vanished ones was the slide-in plastic thing that held the battery in place. I thought this one's screw battery retainer would be an improvement. Thinking is dangerous & I've quickly discovered that the screws are extremely tiny & quite difficult to get back in. When these vanish, I'm going back to ones with the slide-in plastic thing. Other than that they do all the things that one would expect digital vernier calipers to do.Several reviews say these don't do fractions & the one's I received also don't do fractions.

This thing showed zero soon as I turned it on…. It’s heavy and well built for what I use it for….. I like it….
