Well, here we go again. More cheap, Chinese electronics. Will I never learn? Anyway, just got this yesterday and, after reading through the description again, discovered I have a "special" model. While most of them go "On, Dim, Off" (or so it says), mine goes, "On, Violently Flashing, Off" Kinda neat, huh? It's a brand new, standard 100 watt bulb straight from the grocery store too, so I think we're good there. Tbh, all I care about is "On" and "Off" so I'll overlook that little feature(?) for now. Oh! And, as another commenter helpfully pointed out, you need to tap it with your index, middle and ring finger together to get it to respond (touching it on the sides with your index finger and thumb seems to work too). I've had others in the past that were much more sensitive (and actually dimmed), but whaddayagonnado? This is "this year's model" as Elvis Costello would say. Now to see how long it actually lasts. The ones I've had before usually lasted until the bulb burned out or the power got cut off, either of which seemed to cause them to short out. We'll see. Either way, it's too cheap to waste time sending it back (not to mention getting dinged on the UPS shipping label because I'm "rural" - thanks for that, btw) so you win again, Amazon! Update: So, the first one cr*pped out after about three days and the other followed shortly thereafter. In a word, these things are junk. I'm going back to using the Westek 6043BC Touch Pad Dimmer. It's not perfect, but it works a LOT better than these things. New Rating: One Star

I had 2 lamps with 3-way switches that were difficult to reach. When I saw these touch pads, I was very hopeful that a solution was at hand. I purchased two, and when I first plugged them in, I thought I was going to be disappointed because the pads appeared to be causing the lamps to flutter, flicker or fade in and out depending on the configuration of the switch on the lamp.Eventually I discovered that placing the lamp switch in the middle position, the light remained steady. By taping the pad once, I could make the light change from dim to somewhat brighter and taping it a second time actually dimmed the light very slightly, though not as dim as the first setting. And finally, tapping it a third time turned the lamp off. I figured I could live with that.Unfortunately, two weeks later one of the pads ceased to work. It still passed electricity through the plug to the lamp, but tapping the pad, had no effect whatsoever. They remaining pad, so far, still provides a good answer to my lamp problems. They have a low enough price tag, and the solution they provide is so perfect, that I’m willing to buy another with the hope that I just got hold of a bad one.

This is a cool product. I have always hated reaching up into a lamp and fumbling for the switch. This makes it so much more convenient to switch the lamp on and off, and the dimming feature is an added bonus. As with all things dirt cheap, I wonder how long they will last but time will tell. NOTE: When I first started using them, one did not work correctly. The dimming feature didn't work, the touch pad was unreliable and it would just turn on the lamp on its own. But I installed a new extension cord that put my phone charger on the opposite side instead right beside this device and it started working normally. Apparently the phone charger was interfering with the operation of the unit. At least that's my guess. Overall, I think it's a fantastic product if it lasts a reasonable length of time. (Big IF)

I tried this on two separate lamps. In both cases, the lamp would flicker wildly, until I tapped the pad. Then, it would slightly dim. Tapping again would make it a bit brighter. And a third tap would simply go back to flickering. No off option available, apparently, which makes this unusable for me.

Nice dimmers. A bit expensive and takes a second or two to respond but works good.

No problems installing. Three intensity settings. It seems to work better when I use two fingers rather than one, not sure why (grounding?).

Static electricity discharge from my hand caused this to short out on day 2 . Avoid this junk .

UPDATED: I didn't accurately read the listing, this switch only works with dimmable LEDs. I replaced my bulbs with dimmable LEDs and everything worked. This is a day 3 review, so time will tell.Tried with two lamps, four bulbs, all LED. Flickers on all three dimmer levels. Also, won't work with outlets that also have USB-C plugs, this dimmer covers them partially.

I received this item on June 2, 2023. Both (2 per package) worked for exactly one mont then quit completely. The dimmer switch I originally had was ten years old. So I can only assume that Denwenwils Is very poor quality. I would not recommend this product.
