Works well! I used it to repair a small patch of floor in my kitchen so far. It does go through batteries quickly, but I needed to take breaks anyway.

My husband is a DIY master woodworker in our house. His previous sander wore out after putting new hardwood floors in all 3 levels and 2 staircases plus other projects. The sanding power in this new DeWalt sander is fantastic making jobs quicker and easier. Most importantly it’s quieter than the older sander. There still is dust that will settle around the area, but not as bad. This is a solid built tool that should last for years. He feels the weight is just right and the value for this purchase is well worth it.

This is a 3x21 in belt sander, not 3x18 like the description says. Now my project is stalled until I can find more sandpaper the correct size. Marking off one star for the incorrect description.Several other reviewers complained of poor battery life because they are using batteries too small. You can't run this tool on the little 1.5Ah 20V batteries like a cordless drill. You need at least a 3Ah, preferably 5Ah or greater battery to run this. When using it with a good battery, it runs well, has plenty of power, and the charge lasts decently well. You may have to stop and let batteries recharge if you have a big project. To me that's worth not having to deal with a cord. The lock-on button and speed adjuster are nice touches.

I finally ordered the Dewalt belt sander when it went on sale for $239.00 , it was the lowest price i've seen so far on Amazon and i couldn't hold back at that price. For what it's worth, i already have the whole collection of Dewalt and Porter Cable 20v tools and this was the only missing item.It retails for $369 at my local Home Depot so this purchase was a no brainer. Not too impressed with the way the dust bag is attached but if it does it's purpose i can live with it.The tracking adjustment seems spot on , we'll see if it stays like that after prolonged use, and from what i read this unit is pretty hungry for batteries , i alrady have two 5A batteries but will purchase a few more if necessary.I'll update my review after using this sander for a few hours.

Reçu bien avant la date indiquée. Très contente de cet outil pour le cadeau de fête à mon mari! Je recommande vraiment. Il est plus que satisfait de tous les outils sans fil DEWALT

This replaced my 54 year old Skil belt sander that could no longer be repaired. I wanted a cordless as I use it remotely at times. This tool is much quieter and smoother, has a dust collector port, and also has a side lever for changing belts that I find very easy to use. I prefer the 3 inch belts to the 4 inch and this sander is more than I anticipated. It is worth the extra cost over a corded sander and I am a very satisfied customer.

I purchased this tool recently for a project. The tool is very underpowered. Just the weight of the tool on the board you are trying to sand causes the tool to bog down. As a couple others here have stated the battery life is terrible and the tool only lasts for 5-10 minutes. I utilized dust extraction, but still material quickly stuck to one edge of the belt and it deeply scratched the board. I think this tool is unusable. Find another brand or a corded version.

I own corded belt sanders and use when I have a big job like sanding a big deck. I use this battery powered sander for the small quick jobs. The dewalt 20v belt sander is excellent. Very powerful and does a quick job. Don't expect this sander to do big jobs unless you have many batteries charged up. I love the convenience of not having to find a power outlet.

See above, this tool is absolutely rugged, efficient and reliable. Certainly gets the job done. But then , I'm a DeWalt man! Easy to change grits with the flip of a switch, heavy but still useful. I'm not doing drywall !
