Purchased this for use in a class room for kids 5-10 where colored pencils are used extensively. Since this is being used with younger kids, I liked the ability of the sharpener to set the sharpness to less pointy. That said, the minimum setting is a dull point but some might still consider this too pointy for young kids.I saw reviews noting self feed does no work. What needs noted is the crank direction for the feature to work is directional. Cranking needs to be done clockwise from the point of view looking at the crank handle. Should you crank counterclockwise, self feed will not work. I did extensive testing of this going through a lot of pencils that we have accumulated over the years and they all worked except for one that was just too big to fit into the sharpener.The instruction graphic directions are not great in explaining this. The words to "crank clockwise" do appear in the text but the graphic tied to these words does not show this. However, in the clean out section of the instructions, there is a graphic showing cranking counterclockwise. A non-careful reader might interpret this to mean you should sharpen by cranking counterclockwise. Since people don't read and instead look at graphics, this may result in incorrect use and frustration.I suspect that those that set this up to crank with their right hand and crank clockwise will find the sharpener works great. Those that set this up to crank with their left hand and crank counterclockwise will find it does not work!

The sharpener works!!! Hate that it has to be attached to something, making holes and immobilizing to one spot. But, no batteries or plug in required.

I do a lot of writing and I’m very specific about the sharpness and shape of pencil. This does not disappoint it works well & is light weight. It’s pretty durable for being made of plastic. Leaves a great sharp point every time

Sharpener looks and functions as advertised. We’ve been using it for our daughters colors pencils and it works really well.Seems big enough to accommodate most pencil sizes and being able to do colored pencils is not as common among sharpeners.It holds the pencil for you while you sharpen, which is really nice. Works fast too. Only needs a few turns.

After a few unproductive initial cranks the sharpener started working, and now it works very well. It's quiet, seems sturdy, and gets my pencils nice and sharp.

Got my 6 year old daughter this for Christmas. Well it’s perfect. You insert the pencil and start turning the handle. It pulls the pencil in and perfectly centers it and the turn handle starts to lighten up when sharp. You can adjust the sharpness. The dullest is still quite pointy and the sharp setting is unlike any point on a pencil I’ve ever seen. We have not had a single issue with wood or the inner core splintering or breaking.

I love the vintage look of this pencil sharpener! We have kids who like to draw a lot and this come in handy. I like that you are able to adjust the amount of sharpness. It works well, my only complaint is that it is lightweight. You have to hold it down and hold the pencil in while you crank it. I'm Considering using something to attach it to the desk or counter because it's a bit inconvenient as it is, that's why I marked it down.

This sharpener works really well and is very simple. Just press the pencil in until it stops, and crank the handle until the resistance stops and even the poorest quality pencils will have a perfect sharpening. The sharpener self feeds the pencil. The kids love it and are amazed by it! Pencils that were previously impossible to sharpen, sharpen very easily.

This pencil sharpener works great and has a lot of nice features. First of all, it is very simple to use. Forget the instructions that come in the box, because they are written in Chinese. But the operation is simple. Just turn the knob to the degree of sharpness you want, insert the pencil, and turn the crank. With just a few turns, my pencil was super sharp on the highest setting. To empty the shavings, you just push on the round cutout under the crank, and the shaving box slides out. I also like that this sharpener does not require any batteries, so it is always ready to use. Best of all, it comes in a host of cute colors. I chose sage green and couldn't be happier with my selection.

I'm glad I purchased this sharpener. This solves my stress, where my kid's sharpeners bought from dollar store always gone missing or lost or broken.This sharpener is easy to operate, my 5 year-old's colored pencils are sharpened smoothly by him all the time. Plus the design looks so cool that looks like a speaker. It looks durable though, hope it will lasts longer. 6

This handy little machine is worth every penny!!! You hold the sharpener with your one hand and use your other hand to turn the handle. You don't have to hold the pencil as it feeds automatically! The BEST feature is that it stops once the pencil is sharp. So you don't have to worry about anything! Oh my, wish I discovered this a long time ago!!!
