I had used tip-up lights but then you need to look out of the ice shack every few minutes and after so long it's getting old if you have condensation on the windows etc. - this works great and my son has a set also - so I can configure different alarm tone for each tip up and know by the sound which ones to check. Also works better if you want to stay or sleep in the ice shack. Would buy them again for sure.

Works as advertised. Gone are the days of trying to watch the tip-ups through fogged over icehouse windows.

I have been tring to get my hands on these for 2 years... Finally... I love not having to keep lookin out the window to check the tie-ups. So easy to use and the notification is instant. Worth the cost...

Works amazing! I know people put iffy reviews on here about these, but really its about how you set them up. We do have a booster, but never use it. Also, I have a pile of OLD cell phones that I turned on and installed the app BEFORE I bought these so I knew I would have a phone that could be used. I cleared that phones data completely by factory re-setting it and ONLY installing this app. We now have a designated tip up alarm phone. By doing this it also saves battery life on the phone because all it ever does is look for Blue Tipz. But just in case we have spare batteries for the cell phone charged and with us when we go out.As for the Blue Tipz themselves, we have only had false alarms with EXTREMELY HIGH WINDS. Other than that we always pull up a fish. We put the tip ups all around our Otter pop up ice shelter and sit inside until an alarm goes off. We DO NOT have any problems with the alarms transmitting through our shelter. It's a 600 denier shelter and always get an alarm.
