Great, inexpensive, crossover adapter. Been using it constantly to connect a USB-to-serial console cable to old switches and it hasn't failed me one bit. Screws line up nicely on both sides for a secure fit when needed.

I needed a female to female null modem adapter and this worked out perfectly. I'm using this in a retrocomputer project where I needed to connect a DB9M usb-to-serial adapter to a DB9M console port.

It's a null modem adapter. Build looks fine.I do a lot of work with serial communications (along with many of my co-workers). Many of my adapters "Ran off". So, 2 days later, I'm stocked up.

Mine came wired as a straight-through connection - not a null-modem! Since its M to F, it's basically a useless, pretty little nub to add into your serial connection. YMMV, but I ended up ordering a null-modem adapter from a more reputable brand.

I bought 4 of these for my test equipment - they got the job done. Though the screw on one of these did snap under medium torque... the other 3 adaptors were fine under the same torque. However, on a different one of these adaptors, I had to “open up” one of the pin holes slightly before it would accept my male cable. I would probably buy again.

It is not very often that I can get something cheap, fast, and that performs as it should. This is one such item. The hardware seems to be durable, it is very compact, and it performs the simple null modem task.
