CU Later worked great. I pulled the iron in the pool out as described. You have to be careful controlling the chlorine or you will get algae that has to be "shocked' out of the pool. Bit of a painDelivery was an empty envelop and Amazon refused to refund the charge. I had to go to my credit card company to have them investigate and refund the charge.I had to go elsewhere to buy the CU Lator

It turned yellow which would be an indicator of having iron in my pool and water test showed 0.1ppm iron. It would stain my pool green very fast when chlorine was produced by the salt system of my fiberglass pool. Now that I wet sanded the rust spots from the pool bottom and with aid of metal sequester and culator it doesn’t stain as fast after 3 weeks of having culator in my skimmer. Will buy another one just to make sure metals are gone.

I wasn't sure this would really do anything, but based on other reviews I gave it a shot. We knew our pool had metals in it after having it tested at our local pool store. They then gave us a lengthy and expensive regimen to complete, to get the water back to health. Not wanting to spend too much on their proprietary formula, we gave this chemical a try.To say it couldn't be any easier to administer would be completely accurate. You just drop it in your skimmer basket for 30 days and it does what it does.Important to note - A little detail our local pool store left out; chlorine needs to be at zero if you are using this as remedial, rather than for maintenance.Within 24 hours the metals were clearing up, and some staining we thought was permanent, had cleared up as well. We waited a little longer and added chlorine back in and the pool is BEAUTIFUL.The price is off-putting for this, but I now believe it is totally worth it.

We have well water and use it to fill our hot tub and pool. Since our water is high in iron, the chlorine makes it turn green or brown. I have started using this before putting in the chlorine and it removes enough of the metal to where the chlorine does not discolor the water. I just let it float around in the pool for a couple days when we first fill it. Super easy and works great!

I have very small amounts of metal in my fiberglass coated pool. Untreated, they become very visible stains after a few months. I tried several these Culator bags in the skimmer, and the basket version in the circulation pump, several times over the course of more than a year. They do absolutely nothing to improve the situation. My primary metal of concern is iron. When I remove the bags and cut them open after months of use they have no color indication at all. Once I add a treatment of any standard sequestrant (pro team metal magic, jacks pink stuff, pool stain tread, or plain old vitamin C i.e. ascorbic acid) the stains lift and the pool looks amazing. Unfortunately sequestrants wear off and need to be constantly added to keep the metal suspended. Hence my obsession with trying to make this Culator product work.It does not surprise me that the Culator is useless. It's tea bag sized, and not very porous. So the water that flows near it just goes around it rather than the path of most resistance which would be through the bag. And it has so little area that the gallons of water that passes near it is a miniscule fraction of the pool's water volume. You might as well place a few magnets in a sock and drop that in ... at least that might result in a pull-in effect from the magnetic attraction.I feel quite foolish for having raised hopes for this product based on the reviews of others. It amazes me how wrong they can be.

I topped my pool up with well water, and it was crystal clear until I shocked it with chlorine. It almost instantly turned yellow, as the chlorine binds with the iron in well water. I did some research on how to resolve the yellow color, and decided to try this. I put it in my pool skimmer, and the water was crystal clear again in just over 24 hours. They are very hard to come by. The seller shipped it quickly, and it arrived within a few business days. I highly recommend this product.
