I have a set of 4 commountain speaker microphones for use with my GRMS and HAM radios. These units are built well and feel good in your hand. The PTT button engages nicely without any annoying click like other models. Receive audio is clear and loud making it easy to hear incoming transmissions. The unit is IP54 rated which is nice for dust and light rain, however this makes the transmit audio soft and hollow sounding. You won't notice this if you are just talking to friends in the woods, but may get called out for poor audio if you decide to use this mic on a repeater or in a situation where others have commercial radios which make it easy to hear the difference. Because of this, I use a Kenwood KMC-45 on my HAM radios and any time I am working with others with commercial radios and use these for talking in small groups.

The quality appears to be very well built using quality materials. The sound of the speaker is great relative to volume and quality. The cord and the plug are both high quality. The plug fits very firmly into our Blofung radios. The only reason we deducted two stars from this review is because of the microphone. If the user is too close it is muffled. If the user is too far it is tinny. Otherwise a great product at an affordable price!

I picked up a pair of the Baofeng mics for the pair of UV5R's I have. They are truly cheap crap. And they feel like it too. Especially the switches. The switches on my mics were not uniform.Then I ordered a pair of Wouxon GMRS radios recently and wanted to try these Commountain mics after new research instead of an $80 mic.These mics are heftier than the cheezy Baofeng mics. These are Chinese mics but of far better quality. The switches on my two mics feel the same when pressing them.Get these instead of the Baofeng mics!!

Wow, great lil mic BUT I couldnt get it to work as a dual channel mic. It would always key up the lower band on the radio NEVER the top band.

Per my husband: So far they're working as they should with either mono 3.5mm or stereo 3.5mm cable. Used with a Baofeng radio, as soon as you plug in the cable, no sound comes from the speaker. Only thing is that sucks is that when using either mono or stereo cable, I was only able to get sound out of one side of my Howard Leight headset. Looking at the Commountain plug, it should work with stereo as there are two rings on the plug. But non the less, you can run audio from the speaker mic to a headset without sound coming from the speaker mic, unlike the Baofeng speaker mic which is weird, I thought it would never be a problem using the factory speaker mic, but the Commountain worked better than a factory speaker mic, and it's cheaper than getting a 3M Peltor/Otto headset with an amplified ptt. Great buy and great value!
