$34.00 is a lot to spend on a dowel, but I needed a good strong 1 1/2 dowel to make a small vice. The dowel arrived and I put it into some mineral oil to soak for 3 weeks to make sure the threads would cut well. I pulled it out of the oil today and got it ready to put threads on and discovered the this dowel is NOT 1 1/2” it is closer to 1 1/4” which is too small for the 1 1/2” threader that I bought. 3 weeks I have been patiently waiting for this to be ready and now $34 bucks waisted. Very disappointed.

Good clean maple rod. Mine was a darker shade of maple. Would be nice if you could order the color more accurately

Nice piece of wood. Going to use it to hold the shape of metal tubing while welding to prevent warping.
