This is really a cool device. We use them to control LG TV sets around our company over the WAN, setup is a breeze and then they just work! Could not be happier except they are a little expensive.

This serial server worked perfect in our application, the only exception being the initial start-up, but the product support is fantastic (English speaking, very helpful and knowledgeable about what kind of input/output you need to achieve), and after I was unable to get it moving, they walked me through and it has run since without a hitch. Our application is a fax modem that needed to be connected to a machine that no longer has physical ports (connected on a virtual machine running VMware). Esker (fax software vendor) told us the only option after we virtualized was to use their hosted fax service at $.05 to $.10 cents per page, meaning we were unknowingly about to take on a roughly $5 a day expense. This device allowed us to retain our multitech multi modem and esker VSI-FAX configuration from old bare metal hardware and stay up and running. Has been a tremendous money saver, and while it is pay-to-play for support, the support is knowledgeable, personable, and very well trained in the product they service.

We had a weighscale (Truck) and need to put it on the Lan. This device server runs independently and no computer is required. However, if you are using a computer to process the data coming from the serial device, weigh scale in my case, then you will need to load their free truport utility. This creates a virtual port (Com) on your PC and then you can continue using your software that ties into the serial device, only this time its on a network instead of directly connected.
