These work great as a smaller set of snap ring pliers only down side is thier a set on the smaller side of snap ring pliers. Definitely worth it though. Has got lots of use at my job.

Worked great for the internal ring I was trying to remove. I had bought a cheap set from a local store. Only one they had..And they just werent strong enough to hold the ring long enough to remove. I had also tried a pair of neednose pliers, but kept slipping off. The moment I received these I opened and tried them out, and worked perfectly. And again when I reinstalled it.. I had the excitement of it working so well I really wanted to find others rings to try it out on. But restrained myself, having other things to get done. The ring is 1-1/2" wide and the pin holes to remove it 1/2 ". Holds a bearing in place. I like the easy lever to switch it from internal to external also instead of the remounting different heads and such.

I had bought 2 other less expensive snap ring plier sets trying to fix the wheel on my Honda mower, but the tips were too big and the pliers were too flimsy to grab and remove the ring. I stopped messing around with junk and bought these Channellocks, and had the ring off in 5 seconds. These can do internal and external rings at the flip of the switch tab, and come with 5 different sets of tips for every size ring. They're also VERY STURDY!SAVE TIME AND FRUSTRATION! This is my second set. Works good and appears to be a good product. I keep one set in my Skidoo Expedition Sport, to make repairs when needed while at my remote cabin.

They work perfectly. The two smaller ones doesn't have the locking device. It doesn't really matters because they are for smaller snap ring, which are easy to keep compress/expend. The large one lock in place so you can relax your hands and focus on location. Fancy, but it works great

I've had a chance to use these several times now and I'm really impressed. These are WAYYYYY better than the versions where you are replacing the jaws, flipping them around and remembering which pins to use for internal or external snap rings. These are super sturdy, made in the USA, have replaceable tips in various sizes for a perfect fit, and have a super handy lever that switches them from internal to external in an instant. They have been 100% reliable and have made several projects an absolute breeze, from working on industrial skid steers, to replacing the internals of a broken ratchet, and I even pressed them into service to help remove a stubborn circlip. I have another pair of snap ring pliers but I can't imagine every going back to them after using these. These are just so much better.

It does the job. I needed this to reinstall ~4" retaining ring from a Ducati swingarm.. It was relatively not so difficult removing it but it was impossible reinstalling it. I broke down and ordered this tool, even it would be a once or twice used tool. I run a fab shop so I may have a need for it again.First the good.It's pretty dang tough! It opened up a fairly big ring with ease.The ratchet action is a real plus, especially when you're trying to keep big rings open. This is my first set of ring pliers with a ratchet and I'm quite pleased.It comes with different size pins, but I have not had a need to swap them out at the moment. I'm sure they are fine.The tool switches from internal to external, and vice versa, with a flick of a lever. This is also quite nice. In the past, I've always had to install internal/external adapters for this purpose.The bad:The ratchet does not have an auto-release. You have to give it an extra squeeze and unlock the ratchet.Flipping from internal to external is a little vague. The tool MUST BE completely open before the actual switching mechanism actually works. Let's say the ratchet is on the first tooth position. Flipping the internal/external level will do nothing until the ratchet is completely released. Not necessarily a bad thing but it took a little time for me to realize this at first.I like quality tools, and this I would rate around 60%. Some of this tool are made from stamped sheet metal, very distinctive of "Made in China". I will admit that things made in China are getting better, but some old ways are not dry yet. I know the sheet metal covers are for safety and protect the internals, but this just means the design wasn't thoroughly thought out.I give this a 4-star, because if you close your eyes, this tool is much better than a lot of the retaining ring tools out there, in this price range. If you open your eyes, you might want to spend a few Bennys for top-notch tools, that you may use once in a while.
