I have been collecting Merino travel clothing. I hang a couple blocks in my closet and a couple on the clothesline in the basement where I dry my wool. I also keep one without the hanger in my suitcase (and wrap some narrow duct tape around the middle in case of emergency during travel.) I live in upstate NY: it works as well keeping away moths as it does tigers. IYKYK.

There are no electrical outlets in closet for plug in air fresheners and shoes keep closet from smelling fresh when laundry scent beads diminish. Upon initial opening, I did not notice much scent but I hung all the blocks in various closet locations and kept the door closed. After a day or so, closet had such a lovely, clean scent. These cedar planks are exactly what I wanted to overcome the stale smell that I thought was caused by all those shoes. I keep all shoes in original boxes to keep closet fresh and I kept the door cracked but it still had a stale smell. Closet is adjacent to bath and I didn't want door cracked which allows dampness in, which may have been partially responsible for stale closet smell. Now door stays closed, cedar planks are doing what I wanted without an electrical outlet and dampness is held at bay. I am so happy with these. I will purchase another set for other, much smaller guest closet. Don't be discouraged if smell isn't as strong as you like when you first open the package. Give it time to breathe and the freshness comes alive. You really don't want to walk around smelling like a pencil, right? It's the perfect way to freshen stale smelling closets but not transfer the pencil smell to clothes. Wish I'd thought of this sooner. Bonus that it repells any insects away from clothes.

I have a lot of t-shirts that I prize. A couple of them have moth holes. These are nice and fragrant. I put 6 in the closet, and the other 4 are in drawers, also protecting favorite clothes.Good value. Glad I got them.

The scent wasn't as strong as I thought it would be, Had to put my nose very near the block(s) to smell. There was an instruction about sanding the blocks to enhance the smell, but that seems like something you would do after they have been in use for a while, not while they are new. Perhaps spraying or dipping these in a little pure cedar oil would help before packaging. Hung 6 of them evenly spaced in a closed double closet, without any noticeable scent upon opening the closet after 2 days. There is a cedar mill not far from me. Next time I will get closet cedar from them

I received my package today, and I’m leaving a review same day; that’s just how pleased I am. This was my 4th attempt at getting cedar. 1 order on Amazon and 2 orders from other vendors. I did returns or just threw out those orders. These previous orders had absolutely no smell, even after sanding. These smelled of cedar straight out the box. I could smell them through the plastic packaging. Very aromatic, the exact smell you think of when you think of cedar. I will DEFINITELY be ordering from this company again. Lifelong customer here.
