The bottom is too wide to fit into the u-shape part of my caulking gun.

I got these because I know the frustration when the body of the caulking gun gets in the way of reaching the application area. Just be prepared to have waste because a lot of caulking is held in the nozzle. Washing them out means they are reusable in the future, and they do save the aggravation in certain situations. I wish the nozzle was just a bit thinner internally because of waste, but being larger means you can fit a small long brush down the tube to help clean and reuse them again.
