Well worth the $$. Really enjoy using this end mill as it hogs through whatever steels i’ve thrown at it thus far.

I worked in a maintenance department and used endmills and roughing endmills on a semi regular basis.I really like how they chew through material without issue and stay sharp for a long time. Not good for fine finishes, but removing lots of material fast they are hard to beat in many situations. In the maintenance department we used high end USA endmills all the time. Down time is a huge cost and the price of an endmill is nothing if it makes the job go quicker. This particular endmill is by far better than the ones I used at work. I'm using this on a small hobby mill and it is chewing through faster than using the larger mill at work. While I have made my mill more rigid than normal, the main difference is this endmill. It is absolutely fantastic. The pictures show mild steel milled by hand at about 400 rpm on a 3/8 endmill.Moving the wheels felt like I was just moving them without load. Climb milling or conventional milling felt about the same. Certainly not like using a normal endmill. The pattern looks rough but is actually quite smooth to the touch.Obviously feed rates/material and rpm will get you diifferent results, but they are fantastic on my milling machine.Highly recommended.

This 1/2" roughing endmill works like a champ. In the first picture you can see the result of cutting out a 1.5" square "window" in a piece of 1" thick 1018 in a single pass. This blazed through with alacrity. While it's not the right tool for the job, sometimes it's convenient to cut a finish face with a rougher, and this leaves an admirable finish (second photo) doing so.After all that, it came out still looking new with no visible wear. I'm impressed and pleased.

I just got the Carbide Square Rough End Mill and they perform great. The 4-flute design ensures efficient chip removal and a smooth finish, while the carbide construction provides exceptional durability and cutting power. The 5/16" diameter is perfect for a variety of milling applications, and the bit is compatible with most milling machines and routers.

This seems to be a nicely made and finished carbide bit, but unlike all of the 5/16" tooling I have, it is 5/16" for the full length of the tool. All the other 5/16" bit I have use 3/8" collets. Unfortunately I won't be able to use this bit unless I get a 5/16" collet for my milling machine.

Great quality end mill for the home shop or hobby machinist. I don't do production work so I can't comment on how it will hold up for that kind of work, but for occasional use it is fantastic.
