Have been using Canon Ecotank printers after dumping HP for their ridiculously overpriced printers and moreover, their equally costly cartridges. The G620's print and color quality are excellent and while it doesn't have a typical laser printer's speed or feeder quantity, it's never been a problem for this fairly low volume user. It also meshed well with my Mac OS X system and is there, when I need it. I highly recommend and especially considering ink costs.

This All-in-One printer/copier/scanner is simply amazing. I use this printer to print photos, at the highest quality possible, both in color and black and white. The quality is stunning--as good as my Pixma Pro 9000 mark II, which has an 8-color system as opposed the G620's 6-ink system (Yellow, Cyan, Magenta, Red, Black, and Grey). But don't let the fewer ink colors fool you; this printer does absolutely fantastic when printing photos. And it does so economically! The ink tanks are just huge and the ink is very affordable. I've printed well over 150 8-1/2 x 11" prints and barely begun to use the ink. There's no way I could have done that on a cartridge printer without a lot of cartridges and a lot of expense.Installing the ink is easy, since the bottles (and I'm still on my original set) are keyed to each specific tank. There's no way to put the wrong ink into the wrong tank by accident. Each tank refills in seconds. Set up was easy--basically rip the tape off, load ink, load software and do a calibration. The software was quickly downloaded from Canon. A quick test print determined that I had to adjust the default density of the prints, because it was too dense/dark. Moving it one setting lighter in the Canon software made it ideal, and that's using Canon approved paper with the Canon driver and Canon paper choice.I would highly recommend Canon's pro-luster paper with this printer, BTW. It's a great default paper.Experimenting with other papers, I found that Hahnemuele Glossy Photo Rag Baryta makes absolutely stunning images with very deep blacks and great color depth. The setting I would recommend is to 1) Set the printer options in your driver to semi-gloss,and use Hahnemuele's ICC profile for the Canon i6400 printer. In the Advanced printer settings, select Paper Abrasion Prevention. I use Qimage Pro for printing, as it makes it easy to use paper profiles. This All-in-One isn't perfect. It's fairly slow in printing, so don't expect instant print results. But the results are worth the wait. There's no automated paper feed for the copier or scanning features of this All-in-One. Sheets have to be laid down by hand over the glass for scanning or copying But these complaints are very minor IMHO, unless you're scanning a lot of documents. Print size is limited to 8-1/2" wide, so unfortunately, you can't print 13"x19" prints. The printer is very economical because the ink lasts a long time. In fact, the costs are competitive with color laser prints, but with much higher quality results. This printer is very highly recommended; you won't be disappointed with it. I've ordered the gear to set up my own paper profiles, because I really like how this all-in-one printer/scanner/copier prints color images.

I have had this printer for two years and I love the ink tank idea. However, with half the ink still left, the print heads stopped working. I have cleaned them several times and did the flush operation as indicated, but now only cyan and magenta print. That means 4 of the six colors won't print, needing print head replacements. The parts are CH-21R and CH-21L. I was able to acquire the right head for about $33 from Canon, but the L head is nowhere to be found. Not in stock and Canon support cannot even tell me if they will ever get any more. The printer is still being sold so they must exist somewhere, but I cannot get one to fix my now very expensive paper weight. Literally, it has a bunch of paper in it and it is heavy. Joking aside, how can you sell a printer where replacement parts are not available!

This thing really rocks at printing photos. I thought the edge to edge printing might be kind of dodgy but it works great. Love the large ink storage tanks. Set up was really “old school” relative to the newer electronic equipment on the market. The “DISPLAY” is a total JOKE - it is extremely small! Printing full 8 1/2x11 is definitely slow. Based on what was available on tyhe market I’m still very glad I bought it. Super quality and a small footprint compared to to alternatives.

I took my time looking for a mid priced photo printer I had a long wishlist, this printer was worth the wait. 6 colors of ink make photos come out crisp and accurate, great detail. I used Canon glossy II and HP glossy papers.I printed 9 8x10, 20 5x7, 7 4x6 maybe used a 1/8 of the ink. This printer with large ink tanks, replaceable print head and maintenance cartridge will be a great money saver. It was quick to setup, wireless also connected quickly, it has a relatively small footprint that makes it easy to find a place for it.Haven’t used the scanner yet but I’ll bet it’s a good one.

I bought this to print old family photos that have been enhanced and colorized. It has not disappointed. The print quality on premium photo paper is excellent. Color fidelity is high. The speed is also quite good considering that I am printing these at a high resolution.I like the ink tanks, too. I have used other photo printers with cartridges and they are hugely expensive and run out of one color at the most inappropriate times. So far, the ink usage appears to be minimal. This printer would not be good for general use, although it could be used for occasional document printing. It does not have a duplexing feature, so no two-sided printing. It also does not have a paper tray. Paper needs to be loaded into a feeder. Since I'm usually printing one photo at a time, neither of these features matter to me. It would drive me nut, however, for printing multi-page documents. Before buying this printer, I read all the negative reviews, many of which concerned setup and support problems with Canon. I had no problems in connecting the printer to my network. Everything worked as advertised, so I have no experience with Canon support.I am really pleased with this printer and would highly recommend it as a photo printer.
