Product as described, purchased to replace original that was lost. Arrived as prescribed, but price is much higher than comparable lens cap elsewhere... I would suggest you shop around first to obtain a price as low as 33% cheaper.

I seldom lose stuff. But at a race track, action is hectic and last weekend, as I was packing up, I discovered I had lost a lens cap. Meh ... Of course I went to Amazon. Found the right cap. Ordered it. Two days later, it was in the mailbox - gotta love that.Canon makes great stuff. Including simple things like lens caps.Recommended

No hay mucho que escribir, es el producto ideal para reemplazar mi tapa perdida. Incluso hasta se ajusta mejor que la anterior que perdí. Para mi su precio es más barato que en otras tiendas físicas o de internet. Es un buen producto de reemplazo. Todo está perfecto, las letras, su ajuste y su materia.

In the past, while looking at numerous small objects in a "Sale Box" in a local camera shop, I found an interesting lens cap for another lens brand (I use Canon) but it was the right size for the front of my lens. I've been using it for a number of years now and like it better than the Canon front lens caps that used to come with the Canon lenses.With the old style of Canon front lens caps, you would squeeze locations on the edge of the cap to put in on your lens. With this newer model, you can still do that OR you can squeeze a pair of ridged locations nearer the center of the lens cap, the method I prefer.I know that some of the newer Canon lenses come with the newer type caps but, for me, I found them not to be very expensive and I'm happy I bought this style for my lenses not having them.The bottom line though is what do you prefer? I'm lacking a right thumb and have nerve damage to my left one and I find it move convenient to use the newer caps.

This is a great replacement for an original, edge-pinch Canon lens cap. It clips on much more strongly, and does not pop off easily when bumped lightly. It can still be edge-pinched to release, which is great if your hands are in that habit, but the edge grips don't stand proud from the rest of the cap, unlike the original versions, which also makes it less likely they will be pressed by accident. However, the cap is much thicker than the original, and if you have specific dimensional requirements in your lens bag, that could be a bad surprise. The 'shoulder' of the lens cap, the part that doesn't fit inside the filter threads, is 8mm (5/16") thick. An original Canon edge-pinch cap is almost half that thick, at 5mm (just under 3/16").If you don't have tight tolerances for lens storage, this cap is a great upgrade or replacement, and it's also very easy to remove when you have a hood mounted.
