Product Description

Bussmann BP/FRN-R-60 60 Amp Fusetron Dual Element Time-Delay Current Limiting Class RK5 Fuse, 250V Carded UL Listed, 2-Pack

From the Manufacturer

Heavy duty time-delay fuse used in motor protection. When sized correctly, it helps protect motors from burnout caused by overloads or single-phasing. The time-delay feature allows the initial startup current surge for typical motors to pass, but opens prior to motor burnout when longer, dangerous overloads are present. In addition, the dual-element design opens in as little as 0.004 second if the fuse experiences short-circuit conditions. UL Listed Class R (IR: 200kA). Groove in end cap or notch in knife blade permit the fuse to be used in Class H, Class K or Class R fuse blocks. Cartridge fuses are used to protect motors and branch circuits where higher amps or volt ratings are required. They are available in a wide variety of sizes, amp and volt ratings up to 600Vac and 600 amps. Cartridge fuses are used extensively in commercial, industrial and agricultural applications as well as residential fuse panels, air conditioning, pumps, appliances and other equipment. Cartridge fuses are available in two types. General Purpose fuses have no time-delay and protect fuse panels, appliances and branch circuits. Heavy- Duty fuses have a time-delay feature, allowing momentary motor startups. Both are available in 250Vac and 600Vac versions with catalog symbol and amp rating stamped on the knife blade or end cap.

I’ve ordered this item before but this is the first time it arrived out of its original packaging. I understand things are returned but it would have been nice to be given heads up that this was a returned item. I hope it doesn’t fail.

These are slow acting fuses I use to keep the large motor for my compressor from tripping the circuit breakers during startup. They work quite well. I bought these to keep spares in the house, because my local hardware store is often out of them just when one blows.

I am using these busman time delayed 250v 60 amp fuses for my solar panels, these panels use 2 fuses. I wanted these on hand since we started having issues with blown fuses and the solar installation co. would take several days to come out and replace them. I got these fuses with a puller so I could replace them myself. Win win for use and the solar company. These 2 fuses have not gone bad yet after one month.

HVAC annual service tech said my old fuses were getting bad, we shook them and heard something akin to sand rattling around inside. His charge $55 to replace. These were $14 and took five minutes to replace. No clue if they will last 10 years or so, but as of today a great value.
