For whatever reason, the bolts and inserts get galled up and you can cross thread these bolts when you are reinstalling them. If they are not going in finger tight, recommend cleaning both the bolts and insert with the tool. The few extra minutes will save you a ton of time and frustration.

I wanted to replacing a cylinder head temperature sensor. It was not an easy task. I had to cut the wire to fit a socket for removal. Once the old sensor was removed I couldn't get the new sensor to screw in. For two days I tried every tool that I could find or make to get the new sensor to screw into the head, but it would not screw into the cylinder head. Then it occurred to me to clean the threads up. I tried every auto parts and hardware to find a tap/die M10-1.0. The only place that I could find that size was Amazon. It arrived four days later. 10 min. later I had cleaned the cylinder head sensor hole threads and screwed the new sensor in.
