I got this for my niece and she loves it! Very good quality, and she especially loves the magnifying glass and the little tweezers for catching the bugs and spiders! It kept her occupied for a long time! She's 4 years old.

This has everything you need to catch some bugs! I like that even if you don't find any, you have a number of varied, fake bugs to look at with the magnifying glasses. It comes with ample tools to grab, scoop, or catch flying and crawling bugs. The scissors with the catcher on the end are my favorite. The tweezers are good for picking up worms. We caught roly-polies, a silverfish, a large centipede, a red garden spider, and worms. We dug underneath some leaves that were still sitting from Fall and found many! It was a great first hunt. They were great to look at up close in the kit. I like that it goes around their neck or can be carried by hand. The whole top comes off without it to wash it out if needed, but you won't need to open it all the way since there is a small door with ventilation on the top next to the built-in magnifying glass. It's a fun kit for all of my kids! (They're ages 6, 7, 9 and 11.)

This kit is so neat! The coolest part of it is, of course, the box with the attached magnifier, but then you get all these extras, too. The extras are quite cheap feeling in quality, but in my opinion, it's consistent with the price, and when you take everything in total, it's definitely worth it. The magnifying box is sturdy enough and comes with a strap, for carrying around. The magnifying lens works well. I love that they give you a dozen plastic insects, in case you buy this for your kids in the wintertime, and there's no bugs to be found! The plastic ones keep them entertained and let them get practice using each 'tool'. I think this is an excellent toy kit to teach your young kids how to respect and be gentle with insects... Totally worth it.

This little kit is absolutely adorable. It comes with all of the bits and bobbins you'd want in a bug catching kit. My favorite item in the kit is the clear observation tongs, they fit perfectly in little hands and give them a good look at what they're picking up. It also comes with little toy bugs so your kiddo can practice collecting them during the off season. The bug container itself has a little magnifying glass built into the top so you can easily observe the bugs inside, and the straps on the bug container can easily be added and removed by a kid. Fantastic set, would get this again for another kiddo.
