Motherboard WiFi stopped working and USB WiFi I already had not doing well. I got this because it is supposed to have longer range. Put in 3.0 Blue USB port. Launched folder containing Setup.exe in it. Installed software and up and running. Clicked on WiFi icon in taskbar of Windows 11 and selected my WiFi and entered password. Very simple and worked with no issues. I have no idea if using dual band. Have to figure out how to check that.

So after trying and failing to make this thing run for a few hours, going through the install guide, trying to troubleshoot, all that stuff, all I can really say for this adapter is do be careful if you decide on buying it.I'm not going to outright state what I truly think about this product, but when an adapter:- constantly disconnects and reconnects from the USB port over and over again- messes up its own driver install because of the aforementioned disconnects and refuses to progress a brand new install from the website past 95%- refuses to eject itself from the computer after clicking eject (legitimately had it unplugged and it still said it was on my computer)- keeps freezing my menus after making changes trying to get the thing to work- holds up the restart and shut down process when the ejection issues and freezing happen- *somehow causes my other adapter to stop working after making a change to its properties*...one starts to get a little wary about what they just plugged into their computer. I'll see about returning this thing. Or maybe trying again later to see if a miracle happens and it actually starts behaving, in which case I'll take down this review. We'll see.

I've had this adapter for a few months now. To start with, it was great. Great reception and speeds. Everything worked as you would expect. Then it began connecting and disconnecting frequently. Now it seems to be connected to the computer, showing up under network adapters, but the light on the device does not illuminate and no networks show up when it is chosen.Uninstalled the device through the network manager and now it works after plugging it back in.

This is my second purchase of this BrosTrend WiFi antenna. I record two longform video programs every week and upload them to dedicated servers. The addition of this antenna reduced my upload time dramatically. There is no installation; just plug it in and it works. If there is any "minus" with this antenna, it's only that the base is not heavy enough for it to sit freestanding. I used two-sided tape to mount it on a bookshelf next to my desk. My previous wifi antenna was ok; this one runs rings around it, as the attached screenshots show.

You just have to install it and boom! Faster than cat6 connections.

These made our unusable kitchen computer usable. It was easy to install, has lasted well, and was very reasonably priced. It easily connected to our wifi and has worked consistently.

Krankes Teil. Funktioniert einwandfrei. Mit dem vorherigen Stick, welcher genauso teuer war, hatte ich sehr viele disconnects und eine download von 10mb . Jetzt hab ich keine Probleme mehr und downloadrate von 120mb wie es auch bei mir sein sollte. 9/10

In my garage about 20 meters away from the closest access point. Works really well, solid connection running a remote 3D printer with webcam stream at a solid 30-40 FPS.Vendor also included Linux install package for drivers on their site which was really easy compared to manually building the drivers. Installed and it worked.

My laptop somehow grabbed onto my home WiFi and then locked up. (Failed) Doesn't allow me to do anything with it . So, my only recourse was to get a USB WiFi Adaptor . This unit appears to be well made. Cable length is about 3 ft. , Installation was easy. I have Win 11 and had to go in and turn the unit on and it operated correctly right away . Better signal strength that my (now dead) onboard Laptop WiFi. Antenna is adjustable and compact , doesnt take up much room. Works well for me . I would recommend this USB WiFi adaptor to others.

I used the earlier version (AC1200). After about a year of usage, the connection was flicking on/off. I contacted BrosTrends & got a quick refund & purchased the newer adapter, as the price difference was less than $10 and the newer one supported Wifi 6. Please note that it does NOT support the 6 GHz band, only Wifi 6 standard (my new Verizon router supports both), and my Windows 11 computer recognized it right away. So, given that AC1200 still sort of works, I tested the difference between the two.Despite 5GHz 867Mbps claim, I only got about 230Mbps on 5GHz on AC1200 on down speed (on Wifi 5).AX1800 managed to pull over 305Mbps, which is the max speed I signed up for. Both managed around 200Mbps on upload. So, this alone is worth the less than $10 diff. However, here's the real reason to purchase it. The second pic shows the connector difference. I realized as did this review that I got more USB connection dropping as I touched or moved the adapter around on AC1200. I believe the problem is that USB-C connector on the AC1200 has gotten loose over time or contaminated during relocation. I can feel it moving around as I shake it.The AX has a different connector as you can see from the 2nd pic top (vs AC on 2nd pic bottom). There is no base and the connection is much more secure and solid.I will add more review as I test this on my Linux (Ubuntu), but so far so good.BTW: One thing that's really annoying on AX is the rapidly blinking blue LED light on top of the adaptor. I wish it was much slower or just solid on.N. B: Make sure you download the driver prior to disconnecting. Window 11 does NOT auto-install a driver.
