The Bose F1 Subwoofer works with the F1 Model 812 loudspeaker, providing extended bass response in a complementary system design. With 1,000 watts of power, the F1 Subwoofer packs all the performance of a larger bass box into a more compact design that’s easier to carry and fits in a car. A mounting stand for the Bose F1 Model 812 Flexible Array loudspeaker is integrated right into the body of the subwoofer, so you always know where it is, making setup fast and easy. The stand even includes cable channels to neatly hide the wires, giving your system a clean, professional look. And now getting your unit to the venue is easier, too. The F1 Subwoofer features strategically placed handles for easy transport.

I paired this with a set of S1 Pro speakers and it's amazing.. powerful yet sharp.. The best way I can describe this is its a "Controlled Chaos" you'll make your neighbors windows rattle with this thing...I love it.. I attempted to do a video but it really doesn't do it justice to what it really sounds like in person.

Big disclaimer - I use this in a home setting, with two (2x) S1-Pros on either side. So the F1Sub is the center, with XLRs going over to separate stereo channels to the S1Pros. Best setup I could conjure up with a budget of around $2500. I feed it with a din-out from a Mac, which is usually playing Spotify on high quality/360hz (they say). I also have a "Belkin 8-Outlet Conserve Switch Surge Protector, 4ft Cord and Remote" so I can switch the power off/on remotely. I do NOT have the S1P's on that power switched circuit as they would simply kick in the battery. Just the F1.This unit beats the hell out of large "thumper" bass modules 4'x5'x210lbs. I could never use that much horsepower in my setting (large room at the office). I tried several, and got tired of exhausting the [very courteous] guys at Guitar Center hauling over this and that demo unit at 200lbs each. But what I noticed when this one came into the room was an excellent crossover. And it's weight.Larger units seem to carry 30-80hz only. And boy do they carry it well. But remember: the S1Pros have very little bass carrying capability. They're great on mids, and even better at highs. And they're downright functional. But you can only do so much with a 6" woofer, even two of them.So how do you fill out the bass in a bass void system? This one, the F1-Sub. Before you start laughing, I know it's overkill for a 20x40 room with lots of furniture, but hey. I can *always* turn it down, and adjust it separately from the other two boxes. I can also send ALL frequencies to the S1P's by a switch in the back, but it often brings out lots of bass buzzing from the S1Ps, which they are known for (and Bose has ignored). So I usually keep them limited to the band pass filter from the F1, and at times you can certainly hear the difference. If I turn the band pass filter off, the S1p's rattle as mentioned but now I know the individual tunes that do that by now. More modern recording methods are that accurate to begin with that can deliver quality bass to the end listener are becoming instantly recognizable; simply solution just turn the volume down for that particular tune. Done. Now the thumping part. Yes, this unit will thump your heart out, and have the cops over lickety-split. If you want it to. But at lower volumes, you get such a refined and broad bass that it makes it all worth it. You'll hear and feel the thump without bothering the whole neighborhood. You'll hear the low end bass, the mid bass (35hz), high bass (~50mhz), and it'll finally clip around 200hz best I can tell. By then the others have picked up the load for real mids-highs. My point there is you don't have to turn this unit to wall-cracking volumes to get the accuracy. They'll perform EXCELLENT at low-mid volumes as well. What could be better? I was thinking of putting an F1-812 on top of it to just do center channel mids/highs, all else unchanged. I'm only after less strained mids and highs, but not necessarily more noise/loudness. A little concerned with that idea that the 12s in that unit will interfere with the two 10s in the F1Sub. Any of you gurus/SMEs have any thoughts on that - please? After lots of trial and error, I've finally found the best bass unit for a fantastic stereo system that I've yet to hear better. Not even with $50,000.00 custom stereo units. Venues/Pro? This setup could certainly feed 100 people, but any more than that you'll need something like the 812 (above). Notice the bottleneck isn't the F1Sub, but the S1Pros. One day I turned it up when no one was around and seriously two pics fell off the wall. And the only distortion I heard was my brain being rattled. Two of these would certainly fulfill any of you professionals IMHO. I get calls from pros asking to borrow my system for a wedding/Sat night gig etc. It's always a no. Good luck!BTW - don't count on Bose tech support, sales support, or customer support. It's non-existent.

Literally. This thing rocks. There's nothing on the market coming close to this, at that size. It's obviously not as earth shaking as a 2500watt 18" JBL, but look at its size!! I can literally fit it in my car. No more van, no more broken back, no more "hey can you come help me set up my gig, i'll give you $50". I can carry it with one hand, and carry my JBL EON One with the other hand, and i'm done. Boom. Crystal clear loud music for 200 guests, at 1/3 of the power knob. Amazing. Its expensive but there's nothing on the market close to this. Maybe the new QSC will be better, but its more expensive and far heavier/bulkier. If your on the fence, buy it, you won't regret it. My EON 518S is in the bin. Well it does not fit in the bin nor could I lift it high enough to reach the bin. But it is in the bin.
