I have a 331k mile a1983 Toyota Pickup I'm restoring and the diff fill plug would NOT come out. Not with any of the typical one tricks. When I used this extractor socket, with an impact, PB Blaster, and a little heat, it twisted right out. This set had the 24mm that I needed that most sets do not.I cannot speak for how great these are in the long run, but they did their job the 1st time for me and that alone makes the set worth it because drilling out the center of the bolt would have contaminated the diff with metal shavings.

My lug nuts were impossible to get off. The impact wrench did nothing. On the hardest one, the 19mm extractor made the nut round. I had to grind off the end of the remains and hammer an extractor on the flange of the nut. I thought I was going to break the 2' long 1/2" torque wrench, but the worst nut finally came off with about 600 foot/pounds of torque, jumping on the end of the torque wrench. Amazingly, all of the extractors survived in good condition.

Worked As advertised… My vehicle repair project was completely halted by this one evil nut that was frozen stuck, and the nut’s metal hardness was so degraded by 15 years of engine heat exposure, that even a six-point metric socket was simply rounding the nut into a jagged circle… No amount of oil penetrant could help, and the location of the nut meant that no other tools could be implemented to defeat this evil nut. It just stared at me, in defiance, taunting me to no end. I decided to give this extractor set a try… Using a 1 1/2 diameter piece of steel rod (as there was no room to directly hammer the extractor socket onto this evil nut) I beat on the appropriately-sized extractor socket, busted out my 3/4 drive breaker bar, let out a loud William Wallace “Freedom” battle cry, and gave a hefty tug… Next thing I know, I was ratcheting off the evil nut and holding it in the palm of my hand…Telling it all the horrible things I was going to do to it!

I used these on my son's chrome , grooved type lock nuts on his Tahoe and they got them off without ruining them. Which is good because I found his lock "key" socket when we weren't looking for it, lol. But if they can grip heavily chromed wheel lock nuts I have no doubts at all that they'll grip softer bolts and nuts if needed. I used a rechargeable 1/2 inch impact driver , tapped them on until they gripped to the point where I couldn't hand spin it then hit it with the gun and they dug right in and removed the torqued on lock nuts. Only did very minimal damage because they dug in so well and the key made for the lock nuts was able to still fit in the patterned grooves so we can now re-use them with no problem. Not sure how they would do with just the chrome coated tin covered lug nuts or lock nuts, they'd probably get torn up pretty good as the tool dug it's way into the actual metal under it but that's a way better problem to have than not being able to take your wheel(s) off if they need to be repaired, replaced or other work needs to be done like breaks or other repairs that need the wheels off. They don't look that aggressive but they certainly do the intended job. I'm sure stripped Grade 8 nuts & bolts will be no problem at all.

I ordered these to remove 2 locking lug nuts from my son's Mustang. His lug nut lock key actually broke from being such a wimpy key. Anyway, I tried to use a couple of these sockets from this kit and the metal is simply not strong enough and the splines inside broke off when trying to turn them on the locking 2 locking sockets we needed to remove. They can't stand to be driven onto a chrome plated socket or stand up to trying to turn them to loosen the socket once you have them on. They are just not designed with strong enough metal and I wound up returning them. Had to let a tire shop get the 2 lug nuts off.

Wow, works better than expected. Exceeded my expectations. While trying to remove my exhaust, one of the flange nut got stuck causing it to round up. I bought two sets of extractor socket prior to using this brand. The first set was a brand from a local auto part, ORLY, the sales rep told me it was the best brand. They never had a returned on the extractor sockets. The sockets would not bite into the rounded nut, all it did was slipping off the rounded nut. I was probably the first customer to return their extractor sockets. The second set was from another local auto part, AZO, this set of extractor sockets bites into the grounded nut as expected but the downside was that the socket was not strong enough. The socket broke, ended up returning the set. This set arrived, I spent about 5 minutes and it broke loose the rounded nut. It's a great set of extractor sockets. Would recommend to anyone trying to extract any rounded nut or bolts.
