My daughter wanted to give crocheting a try and so I thought this kit would be a great place to start. She's not made a ton of progress but the kit really is a good one. The kit comes with a direction to a video that can talk you through how to do it. So whether you do well with watching or reading there are solutions for everyone. The yarn is soft and quality and the great part of the kit is that you get everything you need to complete all of these cute animals in it, which I believe makes it a great place to start for beginners.

This crochet kit has a lot of potential, but falls short in a few key areas. I love the animal patterns included, they're really cute designs. However, while the patterns themselves are good, they could benefit from more detailed instructions, especially for crocheters who are still learning. The video tutorials, unfortunately, are not helpful at all and were a major disappointment. Worse yet, I've run out of yarn on two of the projects now, which is incredibly frustrating. Because of these issues, I wouldn't recommend this kit for beginners. It's likely to lead to more frustration than fun. Experienced crocheters might be able to work around the shortcomings, but even they will find the yarn shortage and poor videos a significant drawback.

I know these are probably for kids but I got it for me and my crafting group. We get together to hang out and everyone brings their current craft to work on. But sometimes folks are between projects or they bring a less-crafty friend who doesn't have one. These are so great for trying a new skill and they're easy enough to finish in one or two craft sessions without being so easy that they're boring.If you're looking for a way to try new crafty things without getting sucked into a project that's going to outlast your interest, this kit is a great option!

I thought kits like this would be great to learn on with a nice result that could be displayed. The little animals look so cute! This review is for 6 Pcs Crochet Animal Kit for Beginners. I love the idea of crochet and have never done it before.The kit has everything needed as best I can tell. It includes instructions that are pretty detailed and links to videos that show people performing the steps. Very nice and soft yarn, nice crochet/yarn needles. It includes the buttons, clips and other accessories needed to complete the animals.While the instructions seem thorough and straight forward, I had problems following them. Particularly, trying to put the pieces together (sewing them together I think). I also had problems with some of the yarn fraying on me. Not sure if that was due to the way I used the hook, needles or whatever.I tried watching other videos as well. They helped a little, but not enough. I need to be able to have someone show me in person multiple times, I guess.If you are a quick learner and/or visual learner, or you have some crochet experience, these seem to be great. Keep that in mind when buying.

This kit is nice in the fact that it comes with more than one project. It comes with directions and a link for online tutorials. All the basic needs to make the projects are in the kit. I got this for an 8 year old and it is a little on and off with interest. They are slowly getting into the project but starting to see their efforts pay off. It is possible you might want to wait a little longer to peak interest in this project, but that would depend on the kiddo. This is definitely a great starter pack for an adult to learn. The materials are pretty basic but perfect for the projects at hand. Overall this is a nice kit.

This set included everything for multiple projects and that’s exactly what I got it for. My daughter has been wanting to learn to crochet so I got this set for her and I to try. This included everything we needed along with instructions to make six different animals. The instructions were fairly easy to understand and we finished our first animal. We are excited to try making the rest. This would make a great gift.

This is a great beginner kit. The yarn is a tight 4ply yarn that I'm not concerned about snagging my crochet hook using. I love that there was an extra baggie of yarn for brand new beginners to use to practice with. That is so smart, and I've never seen that in a kit before! All the tools you need are provided in the kit except clippers/scissors, and that's fine by me. I love that each animal has its own printed booklet so I don't have to get out a magnifying glass to read tiny writing with them all squeezed into the same book, have a monster booklet that's cumbersome, or just a QR code with instructions that I need to have my phone/computer with internet readily available to work on the projects. I'm excited to make these animals!

I rate this crochet kit as 4 stars because it’s a fun distraction from all the devices. The kit comes with what appears (since we haven’t completed everything) to be plenty of yarn and accessories to make the little animals. We’re off to a slow start, but the booklets and YouTube videos are great aids that are very encouraging. With practice and patience, we should get the hang and lingo to have decent looking animals at the end.
