I love that there is built in storage for the pieces. That makes it easier to use and makes it super travel friendly. This was a gift for my daughter and she’s loving it. We are often at different wrestling tournaments and this is perfect to keep her busy on the go without starting at a phone or iPad screen. She also start red creating her own puzzles to challenge herself and her friends more. Love it!

Son recently made sudoku one of his "challenges to overcome" goals (following chess, etc), and this is perfect for when he can & wants to play. i think the wooden pieces and print are more than decent quality for the price (which was my only real concern when i was making the purchase). Also great for tandem playing to teach/learn the game's strategy. The only real unexpected challenge is: when you're done playing, you now have 81 randomized pieces to sort away into the drawer... which notably takes some time. Little trick: put away the pieces together; it becomes a game in of itself to put away pieces in twos/threes.For those who play sudoku using a pencil: you obviously have no way to double-mark a square with 2+ possible numbers, so this is definitely more focused memory strengthening. It's a good thing the booklet of puzzles contains each solution. It's also good that the puzzles 1-100 get harder procedurally, so you can choose a puzzle number and brag about solving it.

This is a great alternative to figuring out your sudoku puzzles without writing them down. I love how it is made of wood and the little wooden storage drawer for the number tiles is so cute. This would be great for family nights if your child likes solving sudoku or for any adult who likes sudoku. Though it is a little expensive I feel it is worth it because of the quality and the many uses you will be able to get out of it. If you treasure it well it should last forever.

Bought this for a gift to a family member. She plays on paper all of the time, and tried using this but says that it is too hard to make calculations without paper. Others may not have that complaint.Well made and complete.

Bought it for my grandfather, he loves it. He uses it for the puzzles given but also uses it to visually see solutions to more difficult paper puzzles he does.
Hooked on AMZN!

Extremely well made - Like a little Scrabble board with tiles and the well designed grid. Maybe it's the 3-dimensional aspect of looking at the puzzle, or maybe it's the fact that you can quickly see what numbers are still lacking, or maybe it's a combination (or maybe just my imagination) BUT altogether, it makes for a great puzzle-solving solution. I try the various paper puzzles, and if I can't finish 'em, I tear out the puzzle, and set it up on my board and work it until I get it right. Black numbers for the preset, Red numbers for the ones you put in, and for the "questionables/maybes" I put on the grid sideways (in red) so if I hit a "non-workable" solution, I know which ones to remove and start over again. Like I said, I'm hitting 100% - great fun! If you're hooked on Sudoku, this is a great investment. (just be careful, the drawer that holds the tiles isn't clearly marked; it's the side of the grid that has the "BOHS" stamped on it... Pay attention or the tiles may easily spill out!) :-) P.S. The name “sudoku” is abbreviated from the Japanese suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru, which means “the numbers (or digits) must remain single.”
