Seems about as durable as I could have expected. Locks in 90 and 180 degree spots. Pretty light and fits well in the BCA Snow Study kit. Extremely fair price.

Folding 2m ruler, solid detents for opening in either direction and keeping it there, clear markings, no fears for durability. I don't know what could have made it a 5 - maybe a case or storage bag - but it's totally workable and good for the money.

Its a 2m collapsable ruler for snow pack measurement not much more you can say. Does the job, well made for the price.
