The zipper snags most of the time when taking the boots off. Rear support at the achilles heel fell apart, these boots have not been used more than 50 times and they have only been used for shopping and dining out no heavy use at all. The reason I gave them a two and not a one was that the finish still looks new. I have put them in the evening trash. This was the 5 pair of Bates boots i have purchased and most likely will be the last.

Fit like a glove. These boots are waterproof. I washed My car in them. Feet state good and dry. They're very comfortable I wear them about eight to 10 hours or more a day. I really like these boots. It's the second pair I bought. The first pair didn't have a tow covering and they got chipped up real bad it worked waterproof anymore. This has a rubber cover so that if you kick something while you're working it won't chip the leather. Again these are really really nice boots I recommend buying them.

I have to say, that this is one of the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever worn.BUT faulty crap, I say that, because I've ordered 2 pair (one size 10 "black" for my son and one size 13 "tan" for me) and both have failed in the same manner.The pair of boots in the photo was purchased on 1/13/23 and the black pair I purchased on 1/23/23A total of $235.30 spent on this product and worthless after 3 months."Buy it Agian" I really don't think so...............

The entire boots is junk . No breathing for your foot even though the laces are undone loosely. Its meant to be worn outside in freezing temperatures. Not recommended for indoors. Worst part is the interior glued lining is coming off every time i take off the boots even when the laces and the zippers are fully undone.The quality is total garbage compared to other tactical boots

Bought two pairs of these boots in the last two years. First pair I was working mostly city while on patrol. These are water resistant but still breathable. They lasted approximately 3 years without any issues. The second pair I bought when I switched departments and lasted about a year while working in a country county until tracking through the woods and catching my boot on a piece of sharp metal and tore part of the top of the toe stitching. Very comfortable boot and very sturdy. The zipper was smooth and comfortable. Great traction and very light weight.

Great boot. Love everything about them so far. Have worn them every day for 2 weeks so far. They are very comfortable. I needed a high ankle boot for an ankle issue I've been having, and these boots have been fantastic. I usually hate wearing boots but these are a pleasure.They are VERY lightweight and the zipper on the side make them very easy to put on and take off... Even with an ankle injury. They seem to be waterproof as well, though that was not important to me when I bought them. I can't see them being truly waterproof for life, but I could be wrong.They look great, too. I've gotten compliments on them... Even from strangers. Very soft smooth leather. Quite satisfied thus far. I feel that I have gotten my money's worth.

I dont want to trash this product, as you get what you pay for, and this isnt a terribly bad investment. It seems sturdy and hard wearing for its weight ratio. However, some warnings:There is a fabric portion under the side zip that connects both halves of the boot. This gets stuck constantly when attempting to zip up the boot. I assume its to keep water out, and it should do that just fine, however it makes putting them on tedious.I purchased the Extra Wide (I have hobbit feet). This isnt a good nomenclature. I would have to assume this is somewhere between a 2E, but closer to a 3E. I anticipate popping a seam within a year, two tops. If you wear 4Es, Id recommend passing.The worst offender: There is no tab/loop at the heel of the boot to assist in pulling them on. This makes putting on the boot a bit of a time consuming effort, and puts additional stress on the tongue as its the only leverage you have.

Havent wear them yet, thats why i will give a 4 star. I bought them for next summer at work.All i can say for now is they are very comfy, lightweight and well made.

These shoes are like walking on a cloud. With plantar fasciitis, being on my feet all day can be grueling. Since buying these boots, I have had zero problems with my feet. If I know I'm going to do a lot of walking (particularly on concrete or asphalt) I will put these on. I have wide feet and generally have to buy wides. An earlier model of the velocitors were wide enough to fit with no discomfort. The newer model of velocitors have become narrower for some reason. Not a deal breaker as they are still incredibly comfortable, but just a bit disappointing.I also own a pair of 511 boots. I like that those are completely water proof, but due to that, they do not breath and are stupid hot in the summer. These velocitors stay cool and my feet don't sweat. The sole is very grippy and has great tread. The sole has a bit wider base, which provides a lot of stability. The zipper works smoothly without catching or separating.Con: The only con (other than the newer slimmer design) is that they are difficult to shine just based on the design of the toe. The rubber sole wraps up around the toe. The plus to that, is that they don't get torn up at the toe and are more durable. The downside is that shining is just a bit more tedious. Obviously this is only a problem if you are using them in an environment that requires them to stay nice and neat like me. As you can see, this did not change my star rating because I could never imagine giving this product less than 5 stars.Overall, these boots provide the durability, stability and support of a boot, but the comfort of a cushy running tennis shoe. I've had my first pair for a couple years I think now, and they are still in very good shape. I got a second pair to use outside the work environment (so I didn't have to keep them shined and such), and got the desert (brown) version.
