In the event of battery failure, this external battery pack can be used to access the safe by plugging it into the biometric fingerprint module on the safe. The battery pack will then supply power to the Barska biometric module, allowing you to access the safe with your registered fingerprints to change the batteries.

I hope yo never need to use it again but this worked perfectly when one of the batteries corroded in the locked safe. Powers the security system, allowing the batteries to be swapped.

My batteries ran out and I could not get into the shelf. A battery backup did not come with my shelf. However, I ordered this one and it opened my Tactical Trap shelf.--and I got it overnight.

There is nothing that will put a lump in your throat more than needing your gun in an emergency, to find out that the batteries are dead in your security shelf, and you can't get to your gun. It's too late then. I never thought about the batteries in this shelf and that it can not open with dead batteries. You would think that the manufacture would provide you with the external battery pack. They didn't. You need this. You really need this. BTY, the price is right.

Needed a battery pack to charge a port that I couldnt open as the battery died on the unit itself. This worked perfectly!

The batteries in my compact biometric safe were dead and I have never found the key. Barska customer service offers little help and never returns messages, so I called to speak to sales. I sent them pictures of my safe I bought in 2015 from Amazon and provided the key code. I was informed they do not make keys for this particular safe, but there was an external battery pack I could use. Note: this battery pack will ONLY help you get into the safe IF your finger print is already saved in the finger print module. After the finger print module beeped and powered up I was able to use my saved finger print to enter the safe and take the batteries out of the external battery pack and put them into the safe. Just be sure to put this some place you will not lose it like in your tool box or with a friend and not in the safe or you will be forced to buy a new one the next time the batteries die.

This was a great product at first but was sitting on my desk and randomly started to smoke. The connector completely melted and the metal jack fell out. Thankfully I was sitting at my desk while this randomly happened. One, don't buy this product. Two, if you have the product already make sure to remove the batteries and throw the entire thing away.

Saved my ass! I got locked out of my safe because the batteries died and i couldn't do anything about it! My house was up for sale and all of the paper work was inside and i didn't have a key, so it was a life saver! Although it's nearly impossible to remove the batteries once you get them jammed in there!

The item has corrosion on the contact. In addition I ordered it last year on December 20. I just received it today and it’s April 9. Once the corrosion is scraped off it may work.
