Head collars work on the principle that if you can control your dog’s head, then the body will follow.

2 different ways to use
If you are concerned that your dog is a very heavy puller and may slip out of the collar and escape from it at the beginning of training, it's a good idea to use a double-ended training lead. Clip one end to the head collar and the other to a backup collar.

I ordered the wrong size, my fault. My pup measured 10” snout and I got the medium which is 4-10” its too small still. Doesn’t seem like the best quality though in person. I’ll be returning it.

This head halter is very similar in design to the Halti, except that the straps are connected on the sides with a ring, rather than being sewn together. This actually improves the fit a bit, although adds some weight. I should have actually gotten a larger size (I got a medium) since I've got this as large as the headband will go, but it does fit okay. There isn't much excess under the chin, but my dog has a fairly narrow muzzle so it still works and the fit is roomy enough for her to be comfortable. It's got nice padding across the top of the nose, and a slide closure under the chin (which is a feature that the Gentle Leader brand has, but not the Halti). The lock tab on the slide lock could have been just a bit longer, but that's probably not a huge deal since you usually adjust it for your dog and lock it in place. It's a nice feature to have, especially if the nose loop is large for your dog.It's got a little band of reflective piping on the nose strap which is nice, and overall I like the quality of the materials and the construction. It is a heavier weight webbing than the Halti that I am currently using, but still has good flexibility and comfort features (padded nose band) that I think will work well for the dog.
