I bought this ammeter and matching DC volt meter and mounted them in a panel with hammer-tone paint to give my Solar Panel input monitoring section sort of a vintage look.. It looks nice.However, after reading the seller's answer about shunt's ( Seller states there is no internal shunt, an external shunt would need to be ordered. ) I ordered the correct shunt per seller and wired the solar inputs accordingly with small 20AWG wiring to the remote meters..The Volt meter worked great but no deflection from the ammeter even with a known 20 amps of input.Voiding the warranty I opened the ammeter up and found a piece of solid wire across the terminals. YES this does have an internal shunt. Now I either have to run multiple 10AWG wires up to the meter and back down to the controller. Or cut the internal shunt and calculate an internal series resistor for use with the external shunt.

This were put into a solar panel setup I take to camp. two trips out and back and they are still working despite the snow and high humidity. I did however forget the shunt. Luckily I didnt blow the meter.
