I think maybe these filters need to washed out a lot more than they say, but here is what I know:1) I am using water from my home that goes through a softener and also a large sized activated charcoal whole home filter, so I wasn't getting very bad water spots in the first place2) this filter makes a really fishy smell and is leaving streaky material on the car. It's a black car so it is very obvious. I hooked two of them up now and will let some water run through them for a while and then update my review later where I rinse one half of the car with these and then rinse the other half without them and see which half looks better after air drying.

Did not help with water spots very much. I will use them because I have them but will not purchase again. I decided to buy a Total Dissolved Solids tester after using these filters for 2 rinses on my new truck and ended up with bad water spotting both times, slightly worse the second time. I live in the Phoenix metro area and my water out of the tap is 335 TDS. I tested the water out of the filter I used twice(only to rinse the truck) and it was nearly the same as the tap water, 327. I then put a new filter on. Flushed it for about 20 seconds and then tested, it was TDS of 11. That's acceptable for a small filter like this. Next I filled a12 oz glass and test it again. It went from 11 to 19 after just 12 oz. I flushed it again for about 30 seconds and retested. It went from 19 to 51. I ran about 4 more glasses through and tested again and again it went from 51 to 92 TDS. I didn't run more than 2½gallons through the new filter and it went from 11 TDS to 92 TDS. This should not be advertised as a spot free car wash filter unless you're washing a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car.

After washing my car, I expected it help reduce white spotting but was pleasantly surprised when used as directed it eliminated all spotting on paint, Windows, and chrome. Would highly recommend this product and will without doubt repurchase it in future. The whole setup cost less than two car washes and I also got much needed exercise. BUY IT.

I recently purchased these Aqua Quest Inline Water Filters for washing my car and cleaning my windows, and they’ve been a game-changer. The difference in water quality is immediately noticeable. These filters effectively reduce hard water spots, and I can finally let my car air dry without worrying about those annoying streaks and mineral deposits. Used it for all my vehicles including my boat and son's motorcycle. No more water spots when I can't dry the vehicles quick enough. Much better than those small anti-spot sprayers. Basically this is a RV water inlet filter, but it works great!
