I didn't realize it was possible for LED's to lose brightness, but I have purchased several of these and they always get dimmer over time, even with the brightness dial turned up to max.

This microscope light is pretty nice. It's rather compact and doesn't get in the way, and the wall plug is small too. I like that it doesn't have a separate control box, that saves clutter on the bench. I don't bother to use the dimmer because I always want as much light as possible. The light output of this unit is not as much as necessary and that's why I gave it four stars. A great thing about LEDs are they don't get hot. Honestly it's a good product and I can't say a really bad thing about it. Made in China.

This ring light is too bulky to fit scopes with dual LEDs because it interferes with the top LED. If you really want to use the ring light, you will have to remove the top LED which is a hassle.
