Home built in the 70's. Aluminum wiring was the hottest electrical idea around. When wired correctly, not a problem even today, 50 years later. The older shallow boxes make attaching the copper pigtails, required for the newer outlets, difficult. Enter the THIN GFCI outlets. Makes the addition of the pigtails much easier.

Don't allow plugs to be inserted. Good luck getting in touch with them. Emails for support returned. Waste of money don't buy

New screwless faceplates are not my favorite as they require perfect depth and angle alignment to look their best.

I replaced all of my outdoor receptacles and covers as they were cheap non-weather rated, non-GFCI with with old flip lid covers. The covers I bought were industrial grade cast Tay-Mac in-use covers. The first really heavy rain since I put these in a few days ago and half of them are now stone dead. Don't put this garbage in your walls. I had a whole bunch of receptacles I was replacing so I tried to save a few bucks, bad idea. Stick with brands like Leviton, Hubble, or Legrand (P&S).Not sure what the requirements are to get things "ETL" listed, but it's obviously not much, from now on UL listed, name brand, commercial or industrial grade only. I still have another box and a half of them for receptacles I'd yet to get to, it's past the return window, so in the trash I guess. You live and you learn.

Just finished installing all of them into my barn. Have had no trouble at all. They work great. Nice design with all the screws and covers needed. Can’t beat the price.

I got two boxes (12 each) of the white 15A tamper and weather resistant version. Price was really good (but can vary) but it's a bargain when they come with nylon wallplates and little side shields to prevent side terminal contact/arcing with metal boxes. At least with a box of 12, each one was in its own little unmarked white box with the wallplate, two side shields, and six greenish-blue "GFCI PROTECTED OUTLET" stickers. It didn't come with any "NO EQUIPMENT GROUND" stickers, and no stickers in other languages (like French and/or Spanish like I've seen with other brands). There was only one fold-out sheet of instructions for a box of a dozen. These are pretty compact, although with the little side shields on it might not fit well into narrow boxes, and without them there's a chance of the side terminals touching the side of a narrower metal box or possibly being close enough to arc. However, they work fine, although I don't know how well they work long term. However, I have a few issues with the tamper resistant feature and the reset button. I bought two dozen and there are a few where the reset button is balky. Most reset easily, a few require a harder press, and one has issues where it may require several attempts before it actually resets. Then there are some where the tamper resistance means a plug may require a few attempts before it will go in, and may need some wiggling. I will say that some of those got easier to insert a plug with more use, but still don't go in easily.I would recommend using the screw terminals. I tried using the backwiring, checked it a few days later, and a 14 AWG wire fell out. I'm not opposed to backwiring in general, but the pressure plate seems to be really thin and soft, where it noticeably bends. I've seen other GFCI outlets that have backwiring, and those seemed generally more secure with thicker pressure plates that don't noticeably bend.I also tried up looking the ETL/Intertek listing for this and couldn't find anything. Amico's website only lists lighting products, and I found those listed on Intertek's database. Granted, Intertek says to contact them for inquiries if a particular product doesn't show up on their website's database. Also - some were commenting about the "manufacturer". I don't believe Amico is doing anything more than a marketing/reselling another company's design, and their name isn't even on the receptacles. I tracked down the manufacturer, which is a Chinese company called Lumex Systems.

Very good quality gfci. Great price. Look amazing, feels great by the touch, work perfect. They even have additional plastic guards for the brass and silver ports(screws). No need to wrap electrical tape. In my opinion! If you know what you’re doing with electricity wires, nothing should come out wrong. Also! Remember that most old houses have receptacles holes made for duplex outlets. Like i said! If you know what you are doing, these gfci’s are perfect and very affordable. My house has outlet holes made for two prong outlets, but i just made a little modification to them, and the gfci’s fit perfect. Love these gfci’s,and they give the walls a very nice look(touch).👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Like i said! If you know your basics about electricity, they should be very easy to install. Hope this review helps!!!
