I have two large battery banks with 50 amp Anderson connectors installed for attaching battery chargers. I wanted an easy way to utilize the same connections when using a portable "in-line" solar charge controller. The ACOPOWER SAE Adapter to Anderson Connector has provided a simple and elegant solution for my specific need. Since all my portable charge controllers have SAE outlet connectors, this adapter allows for a simple "plug and play" connection, with no need to add additional SAE ring terminals or battery clamps. Basically, if you need to connect an SAE terminated cable to an Anderson input (or vice versa), this adapter is a must have.

I purchased this connector/adapter cable setup just before a long camping trip this summer. When I tried to use it with my solar panels, no current would pass through it. Trouble shot the setup and found the panels were good but this connector/adapter adapter was junk. Took a while to get back to it and figure out what was wrong. But I wanted to know why it did not work. I was astonished to discover that the wires into the Anderson Power connector had never been stripped/trimmed of their insulation before being inserted and crimped to the Anderson Power connector inserts that go into the Anderson plugs! Who would do that? With the wire insulation still in place, no electrical connection could be made, hence no power through this connector cable. So I wasted my money because the connecter inserts cannot be re-used. I would need a complete new Anderson Power connection plug to rebuild the cable. Waste of time and money now as I already had made make-shift one on the trip so I could use my panels. Too late to return this junk for me but be warned about this cable/adapter.

It would seem an item like this would be hard to mess up, but you never know. This one was built just great and does the job it's supposed to do.

Works to charge our batteries, but maybe call them first to make sure it fits your plug. I had to shave the plug to insert it in our built in power jack.

I purchased a Craigslist solar panel with controller and wanted to plug it into my Zamp solar-ready RV. The Zamp outlets have reversed polarity so you need some type of converter to connect. This adapter already reverses the polarity so you won't need to buy anything else.

Works, but had to trim rubber off of the SAE connector side of this to get it to fit my RV ZAMP/SAE outlet. All my other SAE plugs fit the outlet on my RV just fine (battery tender for instance). When comparing those other SAE connectors to this side by side you can see that there is far more rubber on the SAE plug of this unit that has to fit into the RV outlet. Used a box knife to carefully shave down the rubber on this adapter to get it to fit.

I had heard that some sae connectors were wired backwards for the Zamp solar panels..but that was not the case with this connector. It works well and I am very satisfied.
