I actually owned a removal tool but misplaced it. I couldn't keep looking for it as I needed to get this truck back on the road. I saw these and thought there would be no way this could work but the price was worth the dice roll. I clamped it on, put a few extensions on to get out from under the wheel well. Gave it a turn and it come undone immediately with little effort. I was shocked. Going to buy an extra just to keep in the tool box. Recommend.

Had a stubborn inner TRE on a 2015 accord, which requires the 33.6 adapter on a tie rod end tool kit. The loaner tool kept slipping off of the second TRE I was trying to remove. I used a 3 ft long breaker bar, and it kept slipping. Spent 30-45 minutes struggling with the loaner tool.I had fortunately bought this tool as a backup in case my local store didn't have any loaners available. I screwed down the clamp using probably a 14 mm wrench, connected a 3/8 breaker bar, and whacked the breaker bar in the loosening direction using a 3 lb hammer. I had to reposition it a few times because I was working in the dark and couldn't see what I was doing very well, but once I got it right, this tool easily broke the tie rod end loose in a couple of whacks.I ended up installing the inner TRE using the loaner tool because I was too exhausted to undo the bolts that keep the tool clamped into the TRE, but this tool should certainly be able to install TREs as well.

The tool worked good. I followed the instructions and was able to pull my inner tie rod myself and replace it. For the price and the function it provides its hard to beat. One thing to note is that this tool requires quite a bit more torque than the usual tool that is used to remove inner tie rods.

Used this to change out the inner tie rods on my 2016 Toyota RAV4. First time doing the job, but this tool made getting the inner end out relatively painless and hassle free. It is A LOT cheaper than the tube style special tool and easily adjustable. Unless you would rather rent a tool, this is a very good option for any shade tree mechanics who only do this job every so often.If you are a professional mechanic, this wouldn't be the only tool you need. It is more of extra option that is nice to have. Because of clearance issues on my vehicle at least, I could only turn this tool so far before having to loosen, readjust, tighten, turn and repeat. It added another 15-20 minutes per side to the job, removal and installation, where the tube style would likely have had them off and on much quicker. Also, again at least on my vehicle, you're going to need a decent sized extension bar, maybe 18" or even 24" to initially break the tie rod free as easily as possible.Would highly recommend this tool though. As advertised!

This is essentially a U bolt clamp with a 3/8 inch connection. It is made of hardened steel though, and has ridges to grip the inner tie rod. It does grip, and it does turn the tie rod. In short, it gets the job done. A few minor downsides; I would have preferred a 1/2 inch connection, as most breaker bars and torque bars will be 1/2 inch. You must use a bar, as it doesn't turn around the connection point. Rather, you are turning it around a circle with about a 5 inch circumference. You WILL have to reach in pretty far with a wrench or ratchet to tighten up the bolts. It's not comfortable. You should basically hand tighten as far as you possibly can, then use the tool to torque it down. If you try to use the tool to screw in the tie rod, you'll be there for a 1/2 hour, as you'll have to disconnect and reconnect every 1/2 turn. It IS a pretty smart design though, as it's 2 pieces, allowing you to attach to the inner tie rod without removing the outer. Just make sure you back off the outer nut a good bit if you're removing the inner, because you'll be tightening it down to the outer as you turn counter clockwise. Obviously, mark and measure your inner rod before loosening so you can measure and mark your new one accordingly. Otherwise, your alignment will be WAYYY off. Overall, it was worth the money.
