As described and works without issue for our softener. Not very cheap but cheaper than a new softener.

1st one, gearbox fell apart in mid cycle, flooding my yard, exchanged. 2nd one stopped working, causing error on water softener display. Return was only option with second faulty unit.

Installed this on a Morton M34 water softener. The original motor was getting weak and moving a lot slower when cycling through the regen stage. After installing this motor it moved a lot faster and works just as good as it was brand new.

The gear did not slide in well into my GE GXSH40V. The original gear slid in and out no problem. This gear only went in 3/4 of the way. I flipped the gear around to test the fit and the hole is actually narrower on top so it wouldn’t go in at all when upside down. I added some grease, forced it, and tightened screws to force it in more. Held it there as deep as I could get it and it is just enough for the switch to work. Not sure how long it will last but I didn’t want to go through the trouble in exchanging and running into the same problem.

The motor is too weak to turn the main valve gear and routinely (for the time I sat and watched it) gets hot as heck. It stopped once for a while then I get the Err1 message, I then reset and it started back up again, probably thermal shutdown?? I am guessing.. This piece of crap is going back. Gotta buy direct for parts like these I guess since these sellers on Amazon are selling faulty and under powered devices. This is going back!!!!!

Exactly what I needed to fix my GE water softener. The old gears were all plastic and the metal gears will certainly hold up better.
