I don't have this installed into the wall. It comes with a few installation options, including into a brick wall. I am using the floor stand option. I will say, I only briefly tried out the heat options because it is still warm out. The fire looks pretty. I recommend having 2 people install this, as it is heavy.I ended up opening the bottom of the box, removing the Styrofoam except the part under the top and the front glass, installed the feet, and then gently flipped it until it was on its feet. I didn't have to fully lift it that way. I got a number of the decorative plastic crystals in it, but because it was difficult to hold open the glass front by myself and placing the crystals, I didn't get they across the whole front. They still looked pretty.If you are installing it into the wall or hanging it on the wall, the do give directions on how to remove the glass front, which requires disconnecting a data cord. If you do this, I would put in the crystals prior to putting the glass back on. They do add to the fire picture.The heat did work as well as the fan to push the heat out. And I really like how it looks, though I do think it would look better on a wall or in a wall. I may look for a smaller version to use in my fireplace that is about a foot too short for this one.

My husband unboxed this fireplace by himself and had it set up and functioning in about 20 minutes using the supplied free-standing "feet". He said installing the feet was the one thing the instructions didn't really mention, but installing them was pretty intuitive. Each foot attaches to the bottom of the metal frame with 2 machine screws.The front glass is removable, and he said having two people hold it while placing the clear "stones" behind the glass would have been helpful. Placing the stones on the narrow clear plastic channel holder was the most tedious part because they kept falling off... but once stacked up, the front glass holds them in place. And they help hide the LEDs from direct sight and provide a nice "glowing coals" effect.The included remote makes it easy to control the fan, two heat settings, and myriad options for flame colors, coal colors, flame speeds, and brightness.The heater works well for an intimate space - I don't think it would heat a large room efficiently - but if you're sitting and enjoying the ambiance of the fireplace, you'll certainly be able to feel the heat blowing out.I'm anxious for my husband to build a surround for this fireplace to give it a built-in look. But with it's clean one-piece glass, it looks very sophisticated simply being hung on the wall by itself, or sitting on the floor or a low entertainment stand using the included feet.

Disclaimer: I received a badly damaged unit at first. After contacting the seller, they to replace it as the first one could not be fixed: it was like someone stuck a fork lift through it.----This is actually a very nice heater that are some nice ambiance. This is mostly ready to go when you get it. The exception is adding little glass stones behind the glass. The directions cover how to remove the glass to add them. This comes with a mounting bracket. You can mount this directly to a wall or frame it in. The body itself doesn't get that warm. The top center has two electric elements with fans that constantly deliver heat to the room.This has 3 options for heat: one element, two, or just fan. You can control the brightness, flame speed, flame color, and background color. There is also a timer function. This looks really nice especially for the price. Many name brands are selling these for multiple times more than this, and they do the same thing.My only really disappointment is that you can't set a temperature and forget it. I don't like leaving heaters unattended otherwise.

Set up took me a while with this one. I was unable to do it alone and had to get some professional buddies of mine to help me. With that it still took some time. The finished look is worth it. It adds so much pizzazz to the room. You can change the settings to make this look for appealing. This is worth the price value.

Its beautiful and huge - we didn't realize how long 60" was and it won't fit in our original spot but we found another one in the house for it to go. We like the variety of colors and settings to help it fit any mood and are excited to install it once the spot is fully prepped.

I got this for my 30x50 shop and placed it in the back where we sit and enjoy the weekends.It was easy to set up and you have to slide the glass out a little to put in the reflective rocks.You get so many settings on the lights to make the scene just the way you want.The heat option works pretty darn good also and blows in front of us to knock off the chill in the air.Very well made and the remote control is a nice touch.10 stars!!!

Not real flames but it looks really cool as you can change the color of the flames and turn on the heater to make it feel like real flames. Right now I don't have mine recessed into the wall yet, so it is hanging on the wall, but still looks really cool.
