It does what I wanted it for. It keeps logs away from the dirt when I cut them using a Chainsaw.

When my husband would cut down a tree, we would try to prop it up with logs so his chainsaw blade wouldn’t get pinched when he cut it up. This allows him to handle down trees in a better way. It holds the tree up high enough that he can remove all the branches before he blocks it up. It has a few limitations like wanting to tip to the side on a slope, but it’s still worth having. Had trouble with the main handle wanting to unscrew until I added some loctite.

This log lifter is ideal for cutting rounds. Just don't make the mistake I did by thinking it would make cutting rounds from 6' long logs easy. It was not. After cutting one 18" round from the 6' log it kept twisting and the arm failed to stay dug into the log itself. Maybe if the arm was spring loaded and stayed dug into the log it might not have been a problem. It's made of sturdy steel and is easy to assemble requiring only 3 bolts to assemble it. This will come in handy when I finish cutting down more tall trees.

Use this for a few days and you'll feel like a lumberjack. There's a company that works in my area that clears off trees from the power lines. On occasion they will drop off some regular large logs for me to cut his firewood.Recently they dropped off some logs that were much too big for me to handle. This tool made it much easier.

It works but only on smaller logs. It is too short for much of the oak we cut.
