Even though I knew these were heavy duty post bases, when I got them I was surprised at how strong and heavy they are. I'm impressed! They are probably going to last more than a life time. They elevate the post to keep the post bottom from sitting in water and have a drain hole on 2 sides. The hardware holes are large and will accommodate really strong screws, bolts or anchors.The paint is a uniform satin black and they came without scratches. There is some roughness to the welds, but it's not something I'll notice after I'm done installing them.They come without hardware which I like. I usually don't use the hardware that comes with these sorts of things and I'd rather not pay for hardware that I don't use.

Heavy duty pust brackets. These are made from extra thick steel and have a nice black powdercoating. The bottom of the braket holds the posts endgrain a bit off the ground to keep the post from wicking water and eventually rotting. The welds are nice looking despit the fact that the instructions warn that "unsightly welds are a normal phenomenon." I guess the welding crew has mastered the task because the welds look very nice.The only negative thing about these is that they come packed in weak crumbly styrofoam, so open them over your outside trash can if possible to keep the messy staticky strofoam balls in their place.

These are very heavy units and clearly will outlast any structure they are used forThick steel with a great coating and awesome welds all around and inside as wellThe middle raises your 4x4 off the ground so it will stay dryer (although I always use treated wood whenever possible, this is still a nice feature) and also has drain holes1/2" holes on the bottom for some serious mounting with whatever you chooseThe 4x4 will also be secured on the sides with whatever fasteners you choose for thoseI can't imagine ever needing a stronger post base for a 4x4 as these are just heavy beasts

Jeeze! The product description says "Heavy Duty 4x4 Post Bracket" and that's no lie! These things are meaty! Solid steel welded construction, and super HEAVY DUTY! The steel is about 3/16ths thick. The hurricane may break the 4x4 posts in half, but it's not breaking these post bases loose. These put the rinky dink post brackets at the Depot to shame.In fact, if you're just using 4x4 posts, then I don't think you need anything nearly this heavy duty. But for about the same price as the junk that's half as thick (or even less!), why not buy the best? Also, it's not just the weight. These are well engineered too. The finish is nice quality and flawless. Seems and welds are smooth and nicely finished as well. They fit a 4x4 perfectly, but it's not just a straight shot through to the ground. There is a slightly raised floor with weep holes to keep the bottom of the post off of the concrete and out of the moisture. Some at the Depot or on Amazon are just tubes that let your lumber sit directly on the ground.So, I mean if you want the absolute heaviest duty, over-engineered 4x4 post bases that I have ever seen, then I definitely recommend these. The others that are more cheaply made aren't really much less expensive so I really can't think of any reason to buy anything else.

These TAYORY 4x4 post bases are exactly what I was looking for. I've used other post bases in the past that felt flimsy, but these are built like a tank. The heavy-gauge carbon steel is incredibly thick, and the black powder coat finish looks like it will hold up for years, protecting against rust.The design is brilliant. The elevated base is a simple but effective feature that keeps the wood off the ground, which is essential for preventing rot. The pre-drilled holes are accurately placed, making installation straightforward.The pack of two is perfect for smaller projects, and they can be used for so many different applications. Why I Got This Product:I got these to support a very large and heavy awning in my back yard. The posts have been slowly sinking into the ground and I will be bolting these to the concrete pad to create a permanent stable base for the awning.The Good News:• These are made from heavy-duty thick gauge metal that is powder coated. These are going to last for many years to come, and based on thickness of the metal, you aren’t going to be able to damage these easily.• Both the based and the support collar have multiple anchoring points. The anchoring points on the collar are placed so that you can use heavy-duty screw-bolts on each side or a bolt all the way through the collar.• The bottom of the collar has opening so that any moisture that ends up in the collar portion does not collect there, and instead just runs out to minimize rust issues.The Bad News:• I don’t really have anything negative to say about these.The Summary and Recommendation:When you combine the heavy-duty construction of these bases, the positions of the anchoring points, the fact that they are powder coated instead of painted, and the low price … I think these are for sure a great bargain!
