This is a washable, tailor-made coop pad for laying eggs. We specially designed a bar to prevent the egg from rolling and breaking.

These Nesting Pads are great at helping reduce and/or prevent broken eggs. They are a soft rubber and the chickens took to them without any issue.Overall 4.5/5

There are always those few hens who can't seem to hold their "bowels" until they get out of the nest! In the past, I have used pine shavings, straw & hay for the nesting boxes, and after a few days the hens have thrown all of it out of the box, and it has to be replaced. Then I was using coconut fiber as nesting material because they didn't seem to throw it out of the box, but it's pretty costly, and you end up throwing part of the fiber away when a hen poops in the nesting box. So I finally tried these nesting box mats - hoping for a good outcome. Like many others raising chickens, I thought they needed a soft, fluffy nesting material in order to lay eggs. I was wrong. My hens don't seem to have a problem laying their eggs on these mats. The best thing about the mats is....they can be washed off! It may not be related to the mats, but I have had the mats in the nesting boxes for over a week now, and not one hen has pooped on them. Coincidence ?? I do recommend these mats, however - it would be good to keep in mind they wouldn't be compatible with nesting boxes that have the egg roll out feature.

Exactly what was needed…….removed nesting material and placed in nesting box….as well as two mats in the corners of the coop……have 2 hens who don’t like the boxes……then replaced nesting material over the mats so the hens can then scratch and move the nesting material to their liking…..which exposes the orange nesting mat instead of the hard wood bottom of the nesting box…….I then collet the eggs and rearrange the nesting material over the mat so the hens, can again, rearrange the nesting material to their little hearts content

These ARE GREAT ! We have not had a broken egg since we placed these pads in the egg boxes. I recommend these to anyone having problems with the chickens kicking out the bedding and laying eggs that get broken. These pads solved the problem we have been using them for months now and just bought more for the rest of our egg boxes.
