They don't come ready-to-go, you have to figure out how to put them together because instructions were none existent and the quality is flimsy and not super solid to hold drawer full of files. Not super sturdy.

I love the cabinet. It’s good quality, nice color, received super speedy but the lock mechanism had issues. It would lock and would not open. We had to literally remove and take out all the lock system.

2 months to a year ago, I purchase this product and received it with a huge scratch on one of the side pieces. I sent a photo to the seller to see if I could get a replacement for just that piece. They offered a $22 refund as compensation, which I accepted and shoved the filing cabinet into a closet door so the side wouldn't be seen. The seller was prompt in response. Then after finally getting the filing cabinet assembled, which I double checked the instructions for to make sure I was doing it right, the drawers wouldn't open up after locking and unlocking it. I sent the seller a video and they sent me a video to tackle opening the lock from the bottom. I managed to finally get it open after troubleshooting for hours. Firstly, what on earth? I can just unlock the cabinets from the bottom for secure info? Okay, whatever... it's not that expensive. I just stopped using the lock out of frustration for months. Recently, I used the lock again because I needed to keep some treats secured away from my 7 year old. The lock worked fine 3/4 times. And then randomly started causing the same problem again. This resulted in me having to now drag a filled up filing cabinet out of a closet and tip it over to unlock it, now again having to leave it permanently unlocked, and the work of having to slide it back into place was a nightmare. Sooooo upset I didn't just return it and buy a different one after the first issue. Totally worth the money if it was operating properly. But the deal was too good to be true. I'm boiling and my shoulder is aching.UPDATE: The company apologized and refunded me after this review (which I appreciate), thus increasing the rating

IT’S AMAZINGLY well constructed, durable, uses a thicker metal than some of the more expensive (and assembled) file cabinets on Amazon do—thus, its metal “doesn’t” dent or bend easily. The paint pigment is dense and surface finger prints wipe off with a damp cloth. The lubricated drawer rails slide easily, smoothly and quietly—with a catch that keeps the drawer faces perfectly flush. The non-tip feature is excellent and the locking mechanism keeps the drawers flush and tight—there’s no play, With the precision of its meticulously creased metal parts and overall construction design, the corresponding screw holes lineup flawlessly for fastening parts together. Because of this vital detail, part screw connection locations “miraculously” stiffens and permanently squares the entire file cabinet’s outer box shell—no out of kilter leaning. What’s more, due to the attention given its design, part details and overall manufacturing, the 1/8-inch gap around each drawer is always perfectly even and square. The picture only assembly instruction booklet is instantly easy to grasp and follow. The entire file cabinet goes together using only one screw size/type with extras in the bag. For convenience, it comes with a Philip’s screwdriver. HOWEVER (please note), it’s easier, quicker and offers better torque if you use a power drill with a fastener screw bit and extender—for a couple of tight inside corners. BE AWARE: If you rarely have (if ever) experienced the adventures and joys of assembling your own furniture with parts out of a box—TAKE YOUR TIME—or order a pizza and have a friend over to put it together for you [grin]. It takes 30-minutes for someone comfortable with the task. Though putting this file cabinet together is very intuitive and logical, it’s at a medium-plus level project—it’s not something silly from IKEA. There are a couple of YouTube videos showing how to assemble this model that you can watch, too. CUSTOMER SERVICE with this seller: For one, a drawer face (part “E”) was badly dented from the factory—I requested a replacement of this part and it was “immediately” sent out to me without a blink—AWESOME! Finally, these happy perspectives are directly from me based on the vast experience I have in assembling such things. I’m not associated with manufacturer or seller of this product.
