As a person that regularly works on cars, I like spending my money on new tools. My latest purchase being Mega-Pro's Automotive Ratcheting Screwdriver. I originally wanted to save up for the LTT screwdriver (also made by Mega-Pro), but after dropping a bolt down a car door while attempting to remove a door handle, I caved and bought this one. So now that I've had it for a few days I can safely say it has become my go-to screwdriver.Weight is hefty but not anything to feel unwieldy, more to you that you're not holding some cheap plastic.I wouldn't put my whole weight behind it to break loose a screw, but the mechanism feels strong enough that I can loosen most factory screws with confidence. My favorite feature has to be that my most commonly used screwdriver and Torx/star bits are stored neatly in the handle. This saves be about a dozen trips to the toolbox guessing which size Torx bit I need. They can be swapped out with other 1/4" inch bits and the magnet holds them in with a satisfying click. The magnet being strong enough to hold the bit and most fasteners you may be using. This includes the screw I originally took out of the door handle a few days prior.A few nit-picks; I wish the ratcheting mechanism felt a little better to engage, requiring me to wrap my fingers around the whole collar to switch direction. And I also wish the ratcheting select was reversed (currently left = clockwise, right = counterclockwise). And lastly, I think they could've picked something other than a square bit to include in the set. A 1/4" socket adapter or just another magnet would be far more useful. But then again, the handle accepts most 1/4" hex bit anyway, so put in whatever you want.In summary, this is better than most screwdrivers I've found in any brick & mortar store. Even rivaling typical tool truck brands.

Bought this based on the review by Project Farm, which does the most complete, precise, scientifically accurate reviews on YouTube. The Megapro came in third place out of fourteen tested, just behind PB Swiss and LTT, and at a much better price. Extremely smooth ratcheting mechanism with very little back drag, and a strong lock up. You can just feel the quality in this thing. It also comes with an excellent assortment of bits conveniently stored in the handle. The bit carousel is held very securely in the handle but pulls out easily and rotates smoothly. I already own several ratchets, including a ratcheting screwdriver and a couple of t-handle ratchets, and every 1/4” hex bit you can think of, but I wanted a convenient, all-in-one grab and go option, and the Megapro checks the most boxes out of all those I was considering. I prefer magnetic bits to ball detent, and the bit storage system as well as the bit selection is superior to every other comparable driver. I would have liked a few hex (Allen) bits as part of the selection, but the fact that they use standard 1” bits means you can mix and match with other bits that you own and are more likely to need. The only thing that would have made it perfect would be if they used double sided bits like the Wiha 26-in-1 Ultra Driver, which I also own. I suppose if Wiha made a ratcheting 26-in-1, I would have bought that for the sake of convenience and more “on board” options, but in my opinion the Megapro is currently the best most complete package available. Also, there is no indicator on the handle to tell you if you are set on clockwise, counterclockwise, or lock. Not a big deal at all, but it would be nice to know when you grab the tool without having to twist it to find out. So I made my own indicator by poking a small hole in the plastic with an awl.

I got this based on the recommendations, it is very good. I also got the equivalent Amazon basic Ratcheting Screwdriver but I keep this for more difficult tasks.

This review is for the Automotive-R model.I had used a Stanley ratcheting screwdriver for years and the bit storage on it annoyed the heck out of me. But it was what I had and didn't think otherwise. Then I misplaced it and looked around for a quality screwdriver. Folks recommended the Linus Tech Tips (LTT) screwdriver, but the price and shipping wasn't what I was looking for. Some quick Googling lead me to the Megapro Automotive-R as an alternative. This is an incredible screwdriver-- the 28 tooth ratchet is like butter compared to my old Stanley, the bit storage is a feature so convenient that I won't ever do without again. You can swap out for any standard 1/4" bits if the initial load out aren't bits you use and I've found the magnet quite effective. I haven't had any large drops, so I can't speak to durability, but it feels fairly solid. My only complaint is the screwdriver a little long for tight spaces and there's no shorter handled model from Megapro.Overall, I HIGHLY recommend the Automotive Ratcheting screwdriver from Megapro. I lost it today, I would buy the same one in a second.

After my last ratcheting screwdriver broke and I gave away a pretty good Stanley screwdriver to my brother, I decided to invest in a ratcheting screwdriver that will last me a lifetime. After doing some researching, I narrowed it down to the Snap-On SSDMR4B, Megapro Automotive 211R1C36RD, and JH Williams WRS-1. The reviews sounded great for all three, but I liked the innovative bit storage and the more competitive price on the Megapro so that's what I ended up going with. After using it for a couple weeks, I can say that this screwdriver is hands down fantastic! The ratcheting action is very clicky and strong, allowing me to driver screws quickly. It’s got a large gripped handle that I find very comfortable. The shaft is long and has a thin profile so it’s great for getting into deep screw pockets. Fantastic screwdriver for working on vehicles, desktop computers or assembling furniture/cabinets.The magnetic bit storage is very well designed, and the rotating 6-shooter carousel keeps 12 bits securely organized. I like how this driver fits any standard 1" by 1/4" hex size bits in the storage. The magnetic tip on the driver secures the bits and screws which is perfect for driving in hard to reach screws in electronics or vehicles.Honestly, this screwdriver is the best I’ve ever used. It makes driver or removing screws incredibly easy and the included bits haven’t slipped once. With that said I’ll outline the Pros and Cons from my perspective.::::: Pros :::::- Excellent ratcheting action- Magnetic tip for securing screws- Unique bit storage in hidden carousel- Durable construction- Comfortable to grip- Long, thin shaft- Lifetime warranty- Made in Canada!- Accepts standard 1” long by ¼” hex bits::::: Cons :::::- 6 of 12 bits included are Torx, I would’ve preferred more Robertson/square bits or Phillips for my uses- No knurling on the shaft like the Snap-On model, a minor detail but still would've been nice to haveThis screwdriver is just plain amazing. I'm going to get these as gifts for everyone I know. The Automotive model is extremely flexible and fits bits from DeWalt, Bosch, Milwaukee and other manufacturers - but you could get the regular ratcheting model from Megapro that accepts their double ended bits for a bit less money. I personally wanted the 1" by 1/4" standard hex bits so I could swap in some Robertson/square bits for the torx bits.Screwdrivers are a necessary tool for any home, but it makes tasks easier to complete with a high quality screwdriver. Do yourself a favour and buy one of these. It should last nearly a lifetime and you will not regret it! Makes a great gift for a new home owner, mechanics, or tech enthusiast.

This is a fantastic ratcheting screwdriver. I have used it every day for a couple weeks as an electrician and am impressed with the quality. The ratcheting mechanism is smooth and requires very little resistance to ratchet which was the most important factor for me. The bit holder works great and allows me to switch bits quickly because they don't need to be dumped out to find the desired bit. I have not tried to pry on anything since I have a designated "beater" flat-head for that purpose but i suspect it could handle some light duty prying. The shaft to handle joint has some minimal wiggle/deflection but it is not noticeable at all during use and still feels sturdy. The magnet is reasonably strong and useful. The handle itself is pretty comfortable in my hand and though slightly bigger than my other screwdrivers still allows for good maneuverability. The direction selector is a little difficult to use one handed in tight/odd work spaces but still manageable and has not jumped positions unintentionally on me yet.Overall this is is a superb product and is now my go-to screwdriver. It replaced my Klein 10-in-1 in that regard. If you are going to buy a mega-pro ratcheting screwdriver I highly recommend getting this version because it uses any standard 1" bit and is magnetized. As a disclaimer I have not done a hands on comparison to other popular ratcheting screwdrivers such as the Wera or snap-on but I did handle, briefly in the store, the Klein and Milwaukee versions and passed on those without a second thought as the ratcheting mechanisms were not very refined. I did buy a kobalt double drive simply because it was $5 and I didn't like it after 5 mins of use (cumby ratchet, tons of deflection, cheap feel, and ect ect). It ended up in the junk drawer and will be given away eventually.I took a chance on this mega-pro driver and am very glad I did. It is everything I was looking for and more.
