Package came broken/cracked, and a lot of the buttons were misplaced. Nothing is wrong with the fastener itself. Just the boxes is broken so I have to find a place to put all the buttons

I've had a heavy duty one of these in the past. It was mechanical but the base was a whole thing that sat on the table top. Having them as pliers is new to me. I know how to install these types of buttons. This set however did not work for me at all. As much as I wanted it to work, the pliers weren't crimping the buttons the way they were meant to. I followed every instruction. Something just isn't right. The metal is also very fragile. So many of the tipped points just gave up and fell off mid use. I've tried different materials, different ways of fastening. Nothing worked.

I got this snaps kit mainly for making and modifying straps on some harnesses and packs. After my initial inspection, I was a little concerned that the prongs on the rings and faces wouldn’t be long enough for a strong connection with the snap parts through the leather and webbing straps I planned to use them with. So far they seem to be holding fine so I feel I made a good choice in selecting this kit.The installation tool is a bit sloppy and the anvils don’t exactly align but there is enough wiggle room that makes perfect alignment unnecessary. The while plastic retention caps are a bit too stiff to allow for easy insertion of the snap components but I found that removing them and inserting the snap parts underneath the caps simplifies the process. I have a bench-top press so won’t likely be using the hand tool anyway, so no huge issue for me. There are more than enough snaps to cover anything I’ll be using them one for a long time.

Overall looks like a good kit with everything needed. I need go re-read the instructions because I've never used one before but they seem a bit unclear and all over the place for me. But it seems like a handy tool to have for my crafts!

It's nice to have a set to replace snaps, but I had a hard time getting the snaps into place. The two presses aren't aligned. Even as a guy, I had a rather difficult time pressing these snaps into place. You can't get enough leverage without using a lot of strength and stress just to try to get it to work, and even when I did, it wasn't set correctly because of the two presses being unaligned.

Excellent quality and value. The pliers are comfortable and easy to use; the great assortment of colors, are stored in a case designed to keep everything separate, and neatly organized. Exactly as depicted, and expected. I ordered another to give as a gift.

This is a fail. It is difficult to install a good snap using the tool. The two dies do not line up which makes it difficult to align all the teeth. Without proper alignment a prong will miss and leave a spike next to the snap. I had a 50% success rate which is unacceptable. The handle is too short to give enough leverage. It is difficult to squeeze it enough to make a good snap.The picture shows the misalignment and the spike caused by it.They need to invest in a quality control department.
